Rumbling in Rear, help!
This just started yesterday (fri)
in my 2004 SE with about 7k miles:
Whenever I go over bumps, I'm now getting a low rumbling sound and vibration in the read. It appears to coming from the right rear.
Anyone experience this?
It's making me crazy! I've gotta appointment with dealere service center first thing monday morn, but I can't keep thinking I really damaged my car and it will never be right again. Aaarghhhh!!!

Here's a follow-up, my car is now fixed and back to normal.
I took it into Freehold Nissan here in nj. They replaced the front struts with the updated ones. The service manager told me a lot of the factory struts on the '04s are defective and will fail after around 10K miles. So they replaced the struts and recalibrated the suspension.
Beware: if you are having any kind of rumbling or banging when going over small bumps at moderate speed, take it in and make sure they replace the struts with the updated ones.

This pisses me off to no end...WTF is up with the struts...I will find out on Feb 21. That is when the DTS from Nissan flies in to fix my car. I will make sure to get answers from him and update the ORG.
I wonder if a bad strut can lead to a hum in the rear. My rear left wheel hums at ~45 MPH. I had the tire balanced and it was fine for the first few miles. It's now humming again at that speed.
The hum is a resonating hum that only occurs at that speed, or most commonly at that speed. Any thoughts?

Hey msoemax,
The front struts could very well be causing that noise.
I swear I heard rumblings and virbrations in the rear end of thr car when the front struts failed. The first thing I checked was to make sure the spare tire was secured or there wasn't any crap floating around my trunk.
Must be the way the suspension is designed with connections from front to rear?
If they won't replace your struts, maybe you should take a speed bump at around 50 that should make them fail for sure then they'll have to replace 'em.

on a smooth road going straight with bad struts it's hard to tell. But as soon as you hit a bump or make a turn you'll hear the suspension banging and rumbling. Kinda reminds me of my father's old ****** cab over engine truck!
