Maxima Is Not Cheap Anymore!!

today i was looking thru the forum and found out that everyone thinks maxima is "cheaper" than the g35 and acura tl..but that is not true!!!before i got this car as a present..i was told to get a car under 35grand..so i did some shopping and i know this for fact and have prices negotiated with the sales person at the dealers of acura and infiniti was where i got my maxima.

2005 acura tl with no navi and body spoiler option..the TL only comes with A spec package which is 8 grands more and regular options are body spoiler that includes side skirts front and back bumper spoilers and wing tip. and other option is with or without navi manual or auto trans..

i got auto trans with body skirt which was 1700 and no navi..navi is 2000 but wanted body kit instead. so final price was $32900 so it was 31200 for no options.thats between invoice and msrp..GOOD PRICE i think from dealer.

than at infiniti dealer i asked for 2004 g35 coupe auto trans without navi and 2005 maxima SL with navi and all options but elite package..
g35 with sports package with include body spoiler similar to TL and 18 inch rims..g35 coupe auto trans which is more expensive than the sedans was 33200 with the sports package and no navi.sports package is only 1400 buck.so price without option was 31800 which was between MSRP and invoice

and the 2005 maxima IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN 2004 G35 SEDANS NON 4WHEELS. the price for the 2005 SL with all options but elite package was 32800..sedan with all options navi included was 32500.non manual.

the reason i got the maxima was between the g35 coupe i couldnt get becuase its 2 doors period..insurance young age and present so i wasnt ready for a car payment or insurance YET..so g35 coupe is no hope..i would have goten it if i could..i love it hot ride and my friend has it and its pretty dam fast..the TL was really nice and fast but felt slow..speed i thought was fast but how it felt was too boring..and i had a 2002 acura 3.2TL type s and trans mission recall was crazy..breaking down every 10000 miles..so i was left with g35 sedan and maxima...2004 g35 becuase 2005 was just bout to come out..maybe thats y better deal..and the 2005 maxima..in front of me there was white maxi SL and white g35 sedan..i got in both of the car..was very similar BUT the maxima had so much more that the g35.g35 interior remind me of my 2002 acura trims and etc..maxima folding mirrors impressed me..HEATED STREELING WHEEL this was the **** i still love it...and than i was still little more insto the g35 sedan becuase infiniti and nissan title wise..i say infiniti is more luxary than nissan..but same engine and all..so i steped out and was looking at the car,,than i just said..damn the g35 coupe looks HOT but the sedan looks FGLY..and the maxi looks HOT...so i was like the maxi will do it..THAN I GOT THE CAR THAT DAY WENT FOR DRIVE LOVED IT SINCE AND GLAD I DIDNT GET THE G35 SEDAN ..HE COUPES WILL LAUGH AT ME..IMO..i jsut wanted to share this becuase in the acura and infiniti forums..they compare the maxima and talk too much BS..i think maxima isnt like the old maxima..price wise and performance wise and quality wise..

(sorry i need to watch my language)

I'm still trying to process your story. I paid 30.5 for my fully loaded 05 SL without elite package. TL's and G35's normally are a few grand more than a loaded Maxima IMO.

Sort of difficult to compare the price of the G35 coupe (or anything else) and the Maxima, as a base Maxima SE can be had for as low as $23,700 with little negotiating, but a top of the line loaded Maxima can list for around $35K.

But, in any version, the Maxima is a heck of a lot of car for the money, and has more interior room than either the G35 coupe or sedan.

And when you throw a 6 speed into the mix, I think there really isnt a car out there that compares.

When I was car shopping, I drove a TSX, which was around the lower-middle range of the Maxima's base price. I looked at a TL but it was nearly 35K and my SE with Drivers package started around 32K so after I worked on them and got a good price for my trade I paid around 27K for it. No way I could have touched a TL for that, or I would have.
