Where Is Ecu?

Can someone tell me where the ECU is in our cars. I need to remove it and send it to jet. They sent a paper saying it is behind center console, in front of gear shift. Do they mean underneath the radio or under the arm rest? Anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

Yea it would make more sense. But I am having trouble getting all that crap off to get to where I need to look. IO can see there are wires also going to underneath the arm rest. I thought I saw a thread at one time on here showing how to take the dash apart to get to the radio but I can' find it.

Thanks - I found it too after I did a search for radio install. After I pulled all that down the ECU was no where close to that. If your sitting in the drivers seat, down under the steering column a little to the left is where it is. Two brackets hold it on. It's in a black box.

Well maybe that wasn't it. After I called Jet to confirm I had the right part, they are saying it is located behind the glave box. Off to check again!

to me I think if you have a n/a max it will run to rich, cause if you don't have extra air flow to mix with tha extra fuel that the chip makes the car put out, it will run rich.... I tought this mod was for boosted cars and so on...

please correct me if I'm wrong

You have to remove the glovebox and it is behind there. The chip is not just for bossted cars. I also have a berk intake to get more air flow. They send you a sheet that you fill out all your performance mods and they adjust to those as well. Here is a quote from the company.
"The upgrade will provide you with 15+ horsepower gain and improved acceleration. Unlike other Computer upgrades, JET's exclusive Dynamic Spectrum Tuning (DST) provides power increases all the time, NOT just at wide open throttle. In addition, by having the computer in JET's lab, the JET engineers can custom program the chip for any other modifications you have done to your vehicle. This simple ECU upgrade will give your Maxima an extra 15+ horsepower. By reprogramming your ECU, it literally enables your Maxima to use horsepower and torque that was "tuned down" from the factory. JET has been upgrading ECU's for 30+ years and has the expertise to get the most power out of each chip."

I know there are some people that don't like Jet and have said it was a waste of money but I have also heard good things about them too. So I am going to give it a shot. If it is a waste of money, I will be the first one on here to let you know. I will hopefully get it back Friday, install it and test it out.

Could be a waste, but I doubt it. A Good Friend of mine sent his G35 Coupe's ECU to Jet for programming, came back, and couldnt be happier. He said he def felt a difference in HP. Dont know if it'll work that well with our cars.. it should since we have the same Engine.
