I know if I had wasted that much money on a useless mod I wouldn't want to believe it either. But I can tell you that the 2004 Maxima uses the new CAN bus and is also ULEV. The new ULEV ECUs have only been cracked by Technosqaure but not even they have any listed 2004 Maxima software.

The only reason JET stays in business is because people such as yourself refuse to do prior research to discover that they are frauds. We aren't here to deliberately pi$$ you off or flame you for spending your own money the way you wish to spend it. But we DO have decades of Nissan experience between us so our advice should not be taken lightly. I am sorry that it upsets you so much to be told you wasted your money but if we don't spread the factual truth, frivilous spending like this will continue.
If you guys really want to make more HP we can certainly help you out and guide you in the right direction. And the ONLY ECU mod I recommend to anyone with a CAN BUS ECU is the L-Spec flash from Tecnhnosquare. All the L-Spec does is raise the rev limiter, remove the speed limiter and fix the DBW throttle control to stay WOT all of the time when desired. Buying a premade software package is like playing craps at best. Some rare times you win but most often times you lose. Most newer Maximas do NOT see gains from a software upgrade unless their own personal car was tested and tuned by the tuner.

For someone above who asked, the timing advance mod is simple -and 10% the cost of the Jet chip....it's maybe a $40 mod assuming a half-hour shop rate at $80 an hour labor rate.

You'll have to shop around for a dealer who is willing to do it, basically using the Consult II tool to change the initial timing advance setting to 17 degrees BTDC (the upper limit of the factory 'within spec' range) instead of where it's prolly set at today which will be either 14 of 15 degrees BTDC.

You will see increased torque in the low and mid-range RPM, a skosh better fuel mileage and a wee bit up top -many people with Gen 5's have done this and noticed results. Very slight, but noticeable.

Good luck

Ignorance is bliss. Are you the type that likes to go through life being lied too? Are you happier not knowing the truth? ANY modification that is supposed to add power to a car should be personally proven buy the purchaser. This kind of blindly led behavior is what keeps these fraudulent companies in business.

And FYI, I would call a $400 MOD a significant reason to take my car back to the dyno for study. I didn't make as much power as I did by relying on my butt dyno to lie to me. I personally have gone to the dyno for a measly ten dollar mod only to PROVE that it made power over what I had previously. And even more once I tuned it myself.

The word on the 350Z ULEV ECUs (2004.5+) is that they can't change the timing anymore with the Consult 2, nor can they change the idle. This may also be the case with the '04+ Maxima ECU.

Where is your proof on this information? Unless you can show me in writing where this came from, I would take this information with a grain of salt.

I don't have written proof of the ULEV ECU lockout with the Consult 2. That is why I implied that one was a rumor.

Also, where is your proof of gains on your $400 investment? Unless you can show me something on a graph I would take this information with a grain of salt.

Where is your proof? Freedom of speech works both ways. You stated what you believe, he stated what he beleives.
