hmmm.. special fogs?...

so i really hate the nasty looking color of my cornering lights (and fog lights). to replace the fog lights with PIAAs they would cost around $100/bulb, and $100/ pair for the corner lights.. sooo what i was thinking was to remove the corner lights and put in fog lights that would shine out to the side all the time, a yellow sorta like the Lexus IS. and on top of that get a white looking Sylvannia bulbs and replace the fog lights..

good idea? bad idea?

i probably gonna do it either way just wondering if anyone has thought of it..

where have you been shopping? I replaced all my exterior bulbs (except HIDs) for less than $80 for PIAAs.

I do not think it is a bad idea, something different i guess. It would probably look nice to have yellows on the sides, i am sure you will be able to see besides you pretty well in dark, but by replacing the fogs with the PIAA, i think you will be sacraficing some visibility in certain weather wont you?

NismoMax60-

u replaced the fogs, all 4 turn siganals the back up lights and taillights for under $80 ???? WOW impressive. My first question is what kind of bulbs did u get and from who. Secondly, did u change the color of ur signals or just the intesity of the bulb, and lastly did u notice a big difference with the aftermarket bulbs as far as intensity goes, or did u just want a different color temp???

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Would it really look retarded to have the cornering/passing lights on the whole time? I think the fact that they light up more of the road would make it look good, and it would make it easier for us to see whats beside us ALL the time instead of just when turning.

Infact, I think the ideal is to have them on all the time then have them blink when turning, that will turn alot of heads!

I would also like info on where to buy the higher intensity replacement bulbs for cheap.

thanks,

Maybe he meant the most expensive PIAA was under 80.00? I've outfitted a couple of my cars with all PIAA, no way can I see it being under 80.00 total? About the corners? I think it would be sweet to have some really bright bulbs in there! Let others know you are serious about a lane change

heh.. seem confusing.. other people got it..

what im probably going to do is.. replace the corner light housing from 27W to a 55W+ fixture so thati can put in some bright yellows.. and hook it up so that i can manually have them shine all the time or while they are or are not shining still have them blink :P ima do it.. as soon as i finish this report.. ill get back to all of you when im done..

I'll never understand the fascination of making the corner lights into driving/fog lights. What do you benefit?!?!?!?

i tested out my view sight of the lights tonight.. if i insert a brighter yellow bulb in the corner lights the light will project at almost 45 degrees when looking straight from the drivers side. now the fog lights when turned on will produce a straight line facing the ground at 45 degrees to where the corners lights meet the fog lights~ it will create a dome of yellow at all times.

hard to picture, but its in my head, and it will be done no matter what. ill post a new thread with pictures after i finish.
