Since I live in South Texas, where the temperature has been in the mid to upper 90's for the past 5 days and only promises to be hotter this summer (some 100+ days), I now choose to buy my cars in lighter colors with no dark leather interiors. For me, the dark cars get hotter and are harder to cool down in the summer here and, since I like to wear shorts, I can't stand having my legs burned by dark leather interiors. I know you guys like the onyx, but not for me. Same goes for the majestic blue and smoke. The spirited bronze just didn't grab me and I'm not driving a white car till I'm 90. The wife likes her Coral Sand/Cafe Latte leather, which (and please don't flame me) I think is more of a womans color choice. I originally wanted the Red Opulance/Cafe Latte leather since I don't consider it to be a dark color, but since I couldn't get what I wanted in the Red, I selected the Liquid Silver/Frost leather which was my second choice. Nice light color, really shimmers, and doesn't really show the dirt.

P.S. - If I was younger and lived in a more temperate climate, my first choice would still be the red, but my second choices would have been onyx or smoke. Damn the dirt, just wash em more often.

I brought an Onyx 05 SL with the Elite Package. Love it so far had it about a week but have already had to wash it like 3 times. But it looks great when it shines especially with 20% tint all around.

I had no idea Majestic Blue is that popular. When I drive around L.A. I see mostly Onyx, Liquid Silver or Smoke. I see as many Blue as Red Opulence. I think I see more Coral Sand than I do Blue.

where I work we sell a ton of Maj. blue and Smoke, the Onyx cars never last more than a day or two...
my fav color combos are Onyx with black lthr (SL)
or Winter Frost and Frost int. (although the white isnt even close to the 5.5gens Glaicer Pearl)

I agree with you. The Spirited Bronze isn't flashy and doesn't say "look at me", but it is classy and refined looking. I feel similar about the Coral Sand, which I have.

I've always said the next car I get is NOT gonna be black - just bought an 05 SE yesterday, Onyx, I just can't leave it alone because when it's clean there's nothing like it....Liquid SIlver is a close second...

Don't mean to hate or anything..but bronze and coral sand are way too blah for this car....Black is of course the color of choice...silver is way too common these days.
If I was to get the car in a different color, I think it looks tight in Winter Frost for some reason...at first I hated it but now I like it the more I see it.

My sentiments are similar to yours regarding black. I love the look of it, but feel it only looks its best or even presentable when meticulously clean. Perhaps if I lived in a dry, southern climate and had a garage I might consider black, but for now with snowy midwest winters, wet springs and no garage, the coral sand has done well at concealing much road dust and dirt.

When I first saw the white in the showroom I didn't care for it either. But, similar to you, it has grown on me. I think white with the stock rims and light gray interior would look quite modern, almost "techno" in its presentation. With the Maximas shape and lines, the white gives a very fresh, clean appearance.

My Maxima is Coral Sand, it has grown on me too.

I have a 2006 SE. Majestic Blue with the black leather interior. I have had many silver cars and thought blue would be a nice change.

Speaking of paint color. Has anyone else with 6th generation noticed that the paint has a considerable amount of orange peel. I have always liked the finish of Nissans vs. other Jap cars, but I have noticed that the Majestic blue paint of my car does have it.

I have always been an Onyx fan but keeping it clean is a nightmare with my past cars, so I went with my second choice, Red Opulence and 2 years later, the car still cleans up great.

For me I chose the liquid silver...kept with the theme of my bike, which is also silver (Gixxer Silver that is). So half of the garage is silver and the other half is black.

Color Poll

Just got the wife's new Liquid Silver SE back from the leather shop. She had the seats done in silver leather. With the black floor and trim, it really looks sharp. After her 91 SE got totaled after 197,000 fun miles she had to have another Max. I get to ride in it occasionally. Oh well, guess I'll have to live with my Avalanche and 'vette for awhile.

A charcoal colored Max when detailed properly can look quite nice.

Just got an '07 in Dark Slate/Black Leather. Dark Slate is very similar to Smoke on '05/'06s.

I really wanted a chance to see the new Precision Gray, but nobody had any in stock in my area. I think its similar (maybe a bit darker) to the Polished Titanium on my '03, which I think is the best Max color ever. Polished Titanium is/was the same color as Silverstone on the Z or Diamond Graphite on a G35.

I thought seriously about a Sonoma Sunset (renamed Red Opulence) that was identically equipped to my Slate, but in the end decided not to break the string of black/charcoal/silver/white Max's (and virtually every other car I've owned).

My order of preference on '07 colors is:
Tough Choice:
  • Precision Gray
  • Dark Slate
  • Super Black
  • Sonoma Sunset
  • Radiant Silver
Take or Leave:
  • Winter Frost
  • Majestic Blue
Not Bad, but Just Not for Me:
  • Pebble Beach

The 63rd Majestic Blue in this thread. After the dark Mahogany color I had on the '00 Max, I swore I'd never get another dark color, and with the '02 Max I went with the Tungsten Blue (some called it the Coke bottle color!), and sure enough it did "look" cleaner most of the time. That didn't change the fact that it really WAS dirty.

So with the new '07, I opted for this Majestic Blue color, one I've long admired. It's especially sweet looking in parking lot lighting.

As my user name suggests, I have a Silver Max 06.

I wanted the Onyx but since I was buying a new car as the 07's were coming out, all the 06's were pretty much sold out. But I got a great deal on it and this is my first Maxima. Actually, this is my first car post college graduation. So far, I love it.

I'm really new to the forums and this is my first post. I spent all day yesterday reading through posts on this forum, and this is a great place to learn new stuff.

Keep up the good work people.

Cheers.

noticed there is no Black in the POLL, and i am sure a lot ot the max's are black .. mine included.
At first, i cursed myself for going this colour, but now i realise that it being black i wash and take care of it more than if it were one of those colours that does not "appear" to need the care....

All ... just coz ure car is silver or bronze.. does not mean it is not dirty!!

but too all who have black... u know the pleasure u get after giving it a good wash!!! dont think any other colour can do that!
my car 3 yrs old ... and I get comments " ure car is always WOW" and there are two other 04's in the lot and nobody looks at them or comments (spirit bronze and onyx!! - enuf said)

Onyx = Black

The older "Super Black" designation has been revived for '07, but the paint code is the same as the Onyx.

My Max is silver with green silver tinting. Silver braker calipers and the original MAX silver mags. I have the Trenz polished chrome grille with the Nissan winged emblem on it. It looks good although there are now way too many silver cars on the road. My wife's car is a 2k2 Silver Corolla with customer FAST mags/Falken 195/50/15's. It looks good too. So two silver cards in the driveway. When I get a sports car it will be in RED! I really like the Saturn Sky. There is a R-line version coming out soon with more power. That one is nice!

I have never seen another radiant ember elite max (w/ burnt orange int) on the road. So far I am the only one that I know of in DFW unless someone on the org from around here knows any different.

I bought the car in maryland and drove it back because I wanted the color w/the elite package and its nearly impossible to find. Plus I don't like dealing with dealerships...I find individuals much more trustworthy on the whole. This guy had taken good care of it and bought the 100k warranty which I got with the car.

I did notice at the dealership you can still get the color on the 350Z though...Its a shame they didnt keep in on the max.
