26" driver's side wiper

Other than ordering from the Nissan dealer (the closest of which is about 30 miles away), which I assume is an (expensive) option, does anyone know where one can purchase a replacement 26" wiper for the driver's side? I have checked at WalMart and the local Auto Zone part store, with no luck. I would prefer not to have to order one online.

I ordered Piaa super silicone wipers off tirerack.com...they got 26", Bosch, Trico, and a few others are not made in this weird size...another thing to make things difficult. However I have a wiper fetish and ill be getting the valeo ultimate wiper blades for $40 each..just like the OEM mercedes!

I know this does not help you not having to order online, but I got a set of PIAA refills from Autobarn.com. I think I paid around $20 for the set of "refills". I too went to Target; Napa; Checker: Autozone, and the largest size anyone had was 24", and that alone was in the $14-15 range, so I figured from Autobarn, @ $20 for a full refill set and shipping and such for just over $20 was well worth it. The PIAA's work real well too.

What makes them the ultimate wiper blade?

26" information - thanks

Thanks for the information. I doubt I'll spring for the Ultimate blades referred to above by 04BlackMaxx. For me, I just can't see putting down $40 for a wiper, though I am glad that he is happy with his.

I followed the link you provided. Since the link is to a dealership in TX, if I end up ordering from the semi-local dealership, at least I will have some reference information on what is could or should cost.

The passenger side is 17 not 18. I also thought about using different sizes. It would be extremely great if that worked out. Stupid 26ers. Hard as hell to find unless you want PIAAs or some other brand that isn't carried at AutoZone or Walmart.

I've always thought that silicon wipers were superior to standard rubber wipers? If so, does the ultimate wiper blade use standard rubber or some kind of silicon blend? It's not clearly listed in the product specifications.

Thanks

Where did you find 26" Anco's? I've always used Anco wipers in all my past vehicles, for the price they can't be beat. But I have never been able to find them in 26".

Valeo IS the ultimate

ok, allright...stop the commotion! I have owned Trico, Bosch, Anco, Piaa, and Just got Valeo's (all on this maxima, i know...im a bit crazy about wipers). If I had to compare these blades based on looks and quality: The Anco and Trico would be the Chevy and Ford of wipers...Piaa would be the honda, Bosch the VW/Audi, and Valeo would be the Ferrari of wipers. Yes, its THAT much better than the other brands, and Trico has even come out with an obvious answer to the Valeo technology, Ive seen a cheaper copy of it in Pep-Boys. If you don't wanna spend $60 on a pair of wipers thats fine, most people wouldnt, but they arent OEM on $100,000+ Mercedes-Benz autos for nothing. These blades are of the highest quality, a single piece of some tensionized fiberglass material bonded to what appears to be a silicone coated wiperblade, and with airfoils on top. Unlike anything Ive ever seen before, I wanted these wipers way back about 5 years ago when I read an article on the New SL500, which used these blades. The Car mag. actually discussed the never seen before technology of these wipers.Once only available on a Benz...Better in real life than the pictures. Call me crazy.

Valeo

tire rack has them for $39 each. then you get some $10 fluid for free. Now if they came with a nice long warranty, I'd consdier them. So far the cheap oem ones are performing well. Plus I already have spare blades.

they seem pretty high-tech. Maybe one day when I find that money to use on the the finer things in life.

Hey, I just ordered the Ferrari wiper blades aka Ultimate Wiper Blade. I figured for an extra 30 bucks I mine as well pay because I drive alot, and the weather is terrible in RI. I like the idea of infinite pressure points because with the factory ones I get streaks, they are noises, moving all round when in operation... hopefully these new ones will just glide without streaks.

Thanks for the information. I checked recently at the local Autozone and they didn't have anything available. At least now I know that they should be able to get them if they don't have them in stock from when I last checked.

I put the Valeo's on this weekend, the ones I bought from ultimatewiperblade, fast shipping too, man was I impressed. For $60 + shipping I think I bought the best mod for my car. They look awesome, euro style and man they are a good working wiper. It rained on the way to work today, and although i washed my car yesterday, I was so excited to get her wet (every man likes to say that). Anyways, they form to the windshield so nicely, they are extremely quiet and they leave no streaks whatsover, and the 26" blade does not vibrate like the stock one. I recommend every nissan owner buying these bad boys. Easy to install too!

I put mine on this weekend as well. I am also very impressed with the look as well as the smoothness and quietness of operation. Now if they last decently, they will be a terrific find. Thanks peetah!!!

Anytime! I just placed an order for mine, hopefully, they'll arrive later this week. We'll see how well they perform! Of course, knowing my luck, it'll stop raining but at least it looks cool!

they perform well, but I don't think they perform 'better' than the piaa's did. Piaa works great, but they lost their finish, and the rivets on the structure all turned silver and it looks crappy. But they look alot cooler than the piaa's did for sure. And they have to be more durable. Unfortunately I dotn think the Wiper cartridge is replacable on the Valeo. Its something ya always gotta look at when your behind the wheel.

now at Walmart

I recently noticed a new wiper display at Walmart that included 26" blades. This store had previously not carried them. This will make the driver's side replacement much less bothersome.

The Valeo Ultimate Wiper Blade has been on my car for a week and a half and it works pretty damn well. Time to order some for the rest of my cars.
