Tinting Mirrors!!!

quick question... is it possible to tint your mirrors that bluish color or do you have to replace the mirror itself?

Definitely not. This will cause errosion on the glass and eventually, it will wear away the texture and biochemical balances. Best thing to do is take it to a Mercedes dealership and have all the windows switced out, but beware, this is costly.

yeah you can tint them. It won't look real but you can do it. I've done it because headlights drove me mad and i didn't have time to tint the car... You lose about 70% visibility with 20% tint on it.

But i won't look nice or anything. Nope, not at all.

You guys are lucky. To use tint here you need a permit from DOT "department of traffic". I got a ticket 6 months a go and showed up with a doctors note. My case is real. I have an eye problem and the judges wife had the same thing. He told me he was going to give me another court date so I could go to DOT and get a tint permit. I think they are inforcing it more since 9-11.

...????? Are you saying your mirrors are tinted? Tint will NOT stick to the mirrors because its not designed to handle weather. Are the rest of your windows tinted on the outside too..?

Yeah, this makes NO sense to me either...Take my maxima to a MBZ dealer and tell them to replace all my glass with MBZ blue glass? WHat do you think, that the E and S class sedans glass is going to fit the maxima? lol Or that MBZ just has windows for any make of car? No, that glass was made in germany to fit the mercedes models only...You could tint the windows blue at a shop...but if you go to a mercedes dealer, im sure they will laugh at you, maybe try to sell you an E class, which in this case would probobly be cheaper than having custom made blue glass made, if its even possible.
I do like the blue BMW/MBZ mirrors, but does any company make a replaceent for the MAx? I doubt it, but if they did, id consider it. SOme older model (pre 1996) taurus's have these blue sideviews too, and they look cool.
