Dealers wont touch a navi install on non-nav cars. I checked into it myself. My dealer stated that there is 26 feet of wiring that is in navi cars and it just can't be installed properly. She stated that there have been people that have managed to have it put in but the have problems down the road. The installer has to splice into existing wiring. She told me a story (don't know if its true) that they had a car with a nav unit put in and their transmission, transmission computer (didn't know we had one), ecu, and some other things got fried. Did't happen right away, something about backfeed current into the computers or something, but anyway cost 18,000 to repair the car. So, I recommed an aftermarket portable unit and if you get an indash aftermarket go to a reputable installer.

The dealer said that? WHy would they? they are stealerships, they normally say yes take ur money and then make u keep the car there for along time.. but thats not the case with me, my friend is a nisaan tech and he knows wut he is doing, all i need is the components that i need to get it on, he doesnt have the time to check the parts list and wut not. (nissan doesnt let the techs touch the computers for look ups, how gay is that.) but anywayz please do tell me the items i need to get to install the stuff

this is not a possible add-on. but with money any mod is possible. so you're looking closer to the $4k mark.

there are no part numbers available. this is a factory only option. if you want oem, your only hope is to visit a junk-yard and have a huge project on your hands.

Not trying to talk you out of your project--I like the built in look, too. But...I knew I was going to buy a pda soon after I got my Max, so I bought a Dell x50v with the Dell bluetooth nav unit. I couldn't be happier. My kid sits in the back seat and takes care of all the navigating, and I haven't been lost since. One great advantage is with the pda solution you don't have to pull over to input new destination info, with the factory unit you do. Safety feature...
