intake and car wash
its ok, its proven already that in order for the injen intake to mess up the car with sucking water, it has to be completely underwater... not just alittle bit like a power wash.. just don't aim right at it when doing it to be safe...
I was told by the dealer (and saw it with my own eyes too) that it is safe to wash under the hood. You want to use a really mild soap if you do infact use soap and you don't want to use any pressure to wash under the hood. Use as gentle as possible stream of water to wash under the hood. avoid soaking your altenator and your air box. Follow those simple rules and you'll be set

My question though...I ordered a Berk intake, but it's on hold cause parts are out to be polished...it comes with teh Apexi dry filter...what happens if this gets wet? Does it damage the filter since it's a dry filter that I hear can go up to 30K? Or do folks recommend getting a K&N or oil equiv. filter? The only thing I would worry about is the mass air sensor (I believe that's the correct term) getting oily...is this an issue?

Looks like a plain K&N style/type filter. Cotton gauze inside a wire mesh screen. I use the K&N recharger kit on it.
It would be hard to get water into the filter since its in behind the wheel liner. Obviously if you blast water down the hole that the intake pases through you can get the filter wet.
Just use some caution while you are blasting around the battery area and you should be fine. Or do it by hand with a low pressure garden hose. You'd probably do a better job that way anyways. Use an old wheel brush and some degreaser.
