Search around... I replaced mine with LEDs from superbrightleds.com, and I think they were a couple of bucks a piece -- same thing for the festoon bulbs on the overhead -- and they look great.

The bulbs WILL come off... you just need to keep pulling. Seriously though, they're straight pull-down... they're just awkward because of the size/shape and the placement.

they do come off just by pulling?? Are we talking about the same bulb here? It has one bulb per side and it gives off amberish output.

can you PLEASE provide me with the product info ?

I definetely have to take off the plastic piece. My fingers can't pull it off with that amount of space. I'll check it out again tomorrow when there's more light.

Well there are just so many bulbs in the car...

If you mean the ones by the footwells, they come off by pulling. If you have pudgy fingers, that's another story...

WLED 6-LED wedge bulbs... $3 a piece. You need one on each side and a couple of more if you're planning to replace your license plate lights too. I'll post pics of mine in a minute.

I guess I have pudgy fingers because when I put my in pointer and thumb, i have no space to move. I'm not interested in LEDs, just plain hyper white (blue colored bulb lense). So the bulbs by footwells, are they 194? Any tips on taking them off for a guy with pudgy fingers?

Who here has actually put in the LED Turn signals ( i have white )?? Have any problems? And did you use a resistor, or something to help the normal problems when using turn LED/s..? thanks.

I wouldn't change teh color of the turn signals. It's illegal to have non-amber colored bulbs. I was planning on doing this mod, but decided it's not worth getting pulled over for, especially here in the middle of PA where cops do pick on modded cars.

btw, i finished installing all the bulbs that i want in the interior and it's HOT HOT HOT!

What bulbs did you end up going with?

I hate this.....Every time I come on the board I see something cool and end up buying it. I'm running out of cash....LOL

Needless to say I just got my order from Superbrightleds.com 4 festoon in white for the map/dome lights 2 amber for the footwells and 2 white for the licence plate. looks hot!!! The only thing I would have changed is the ambers in the footwells to white.

and I'd like to shoot the person that designed to placement of the bulb in the passenger footwell.

I just ordered blue dome bulbs from the for sale section, Link, stoked about changing them out.

Looking at doing the Step/Courtesy lights, and the trunk next.

Here's a good site that has all the bulb sizes listed: http://www.moodym.com/maxima/tech/maxbulbchart.html (Had it added to the sticky)

Somebody should put together some kind of write-up... Bulb A, LED B or whatever, what it looks like, where to get it and how much it costs. Right now there's like 50 links to different types of bulbs, people saying some places are outrageous in price, all kinds of stuff.
Actually they did come up with a parts sticky and they used my car!!!

Next time ask, actually totally cool with me...

Agreed! I actually pulled the socket through (or around, I forget) and taped, yes taped it in so it points straight down like the driver side...

I think the whole assembly is different... someone here from the Land of Oz posted a picture of his, it's a completely different headlight IIRC.

Has anyone done the LED/display change in Atlanta? Definitely want to do it but don't want to head up north and don't know anyone that could handle it down here.

remove the carpet liner on the inside of the trunk. i only took off the top 4 fasteners to pull enough back. the bulbs twist and come straight out.

they go into the housing perpendicular so you cannot fit long led bulbs. get some flank ones that light up on one side. or normal 194 bulbs.

Hey NismoMax80 .. thanks for the reply. Forgive me for my ignorance with this, but this 194, is it something that can be bought at a local store?

Thanks again

yes they are cheap. http://www.google.com/products?q=194...ed=0CDIQzAMwAA
might as well replace them both if one went out.

Does the bulb screw off from the back? there's a plastic clip on side of bulb base and doesn't let me get to the bulb from the front

from inside the trunk lid, once carpet is moved,
rotate the housing i think couter clockwise about 1/4 turn, straight out.
the bulbs are just a wedge and pull straight out of the housing.
