Need opinions on lowering springs

For the guys who have springs installed, which ones did you go with? How does it compare to the factory ride? Are you happy with the way it settled?

Anyway, I'm looking to join the "Dub" club soon so, I need to get this baby lowered!

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Rab,

Eibach seems to be the spring of choice among the 6th genners.

Rabenoja,
I have had Eibachs for three weeks. The ride is noticeably different. To be honest the car rides a lot harder now. I still have my stock rims on which probably prevents it from being too harsh, but it is harsher I'm not going to lie.

Otherwise, though it looks great. Would I do it again, probably. It's rough, but by no means unbearable. Plus the car looks better I think. Others here might argue, just my opinion.

Hook em Horns. Sooners suck.

Thanks Longhorn, this was what I wanted to hear. Eibachs are what seems to be popular and I hope it won't be too harsh with the twenties on.

Just had 20's put on and then a few days later I had Eibachs put on. The ride is very different when you put the 20's on. It's not as smooth as it was with the 18's but it isn't horrible. Once I put the Eibachs on, I didn't feel any change with the ride. It didn't get any better or any worst once I put the Eibachs on. In my opinion, the 20's changed the ride...not the Eibachs but that's just my opinion. Having said that...I'm glat I put the 20's on and Eibachs. I wouldn't change them for anything

Funny my new 19's ride MUCH better than the 18's - LOL! Must be the tires - I went from Yokohama's to Falkens and it rides SMOOTH. Gonna be getting Eibachs soon to complete the look

I did Eibachs on all 4. It lowered 2" in the front and .8" in the rear. I also went with DUB's. Toyo Tires. Honestly, I think the car feels great. Not as "hard" as I thought. There are alot of bumpy roads here in NY so I changed my driving habits. Overall, I am extremely happy and regret nothing!

Cvan, I checked out your page. Your car is nice! What size are the headrest screens?

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking Eibachs are the way to go. I have a question though. With the stock springs, when I have people in the back or something heavy in my trunk the back end tends to sit lower. It's probably because of the soft springs the rear. Do you notice this with the eibachs also? or do the stiffer springs help this out.

Rab, remember, the Eibachs will lower the car about 7/8" in the back and 2" in the front. More drop in the front plus the stiffer springs in the rear will help keep your car from lookin like it's saggin in the back.

That's perfect! I'm always getting highbeamed when I have people in the back of my car! Hopefully this will help me out. A cop just used a spotlight on me the other night cuz he thought I had my highbeams on! Sheesh!

The screens in the head rest are 6.5".
Last weekend I had 4 adults in my car, and 4 golf bags in the trunk. I had no problems with the eibachs on the rear.

Only .8" in the rear?? Are there two different kinds of Eibachs for our car?? I looked online for them but everywhere I look its a 1.2" drop in the rear. Am I just looking at the wrong ones??

Any help?

Eibach springs are a rather stiff spring. I believe that the only other option for the 6th gen is H&R. I don't think anyone here has them yet. I can tell you from my 4th gen days that I have riden in a 4th gen with Eibachs and Tokico blues and one with H&R and tokico blue. The H&R was a much nicer ride. The ride in the car with Eibachs is def a stiffer ride.

Hope this helped

Anyone just used lowering springs in the front? Sub box is pretty heavy and with the 20" would not really need the rear as I see it on my car.

Heres one I just thought of....

Do lowering springs create a problem with carwashes?? I'm talking about the hand washes where a conveyor type roller pushes the wheels along.

any thoughts?

That's a whole different issue!! If you are running dubs, never take it to a machine roller carwash.. They scraped my rims, because of the low profile tires and thick rims. I never knew where those scratches were from... Made a huge scene at the carwash, but the owner was just a major f$%k&r!!! saying it was my fault not knowing the fact that it would be scraped...

Anyways, if you're running stock rims, you shouldn't have any problems going through the carwash you're talking about..
