Problems Starting?

Is anyone else having problems starting their 6th gen maxima especially on cold mornings. Its not like it won't start, but it sounds as if it struggles to start. So is anyone else going through the same thing and what do you guys think it could be?

I think it could be your fuel pump... there is a TSB out there for this problem (where the car won't start on a cold morning). I don't remember the TSB number off hand, but it used to be (probably still is) in the stickies.

There are several TSB's for this issue. fuel pump...power relays...bad battery...and i think the ecm too. look in the stickies and find the TSB list all the way at the bottom for the 04's. You will find one that discusses your issue.

There is a TSB for hot starting problems. Replacement of the crank position sensor is the remedy.

Fuel pump has been a problem on some early 6th gens. But its at more extreme temperatures far below freezing.
