Nissan? or is something flying over my head I just don't get?

all I know is that I really wanted this feature in a car. I was considering (more like dreaming about) the recent 5 series which got the tip added. I thought if the Max had that... then the 04 debuted.... So I have one

All I know is that I love mine. Its awesome having the option of just popping this little puppy over and having some fun when I want to.

Ya, I know its no 6 speed, but I can still have fun with it. Getting up to 80+ in 3rd....oh ya....

Luk makes a lot of transmissions for the european market...i kinda doubt that Nissan designed their own tranny...but I could be wrong...therfore I started this thread to see if anyone knows.

yeah, that makes sense. but I suppose you have to be "in the know" to find out. sure would be nice to know since you really have no choice but to pay Nissan what they demand for their specific tranny juice.

I missed an opportunity to see one deconstructed (nearby Ford Dealer is somehow also a Nissan one). Grandfather (ford guy and once F-L-M mechanic) said they boys had one on the table and were amazed by it.

well, doing a search on Luk's site I found no hits for nissan. So I assume that Nissan makes their tranny or it's someone else.
