Trunk rattles like a broken Buick...

I just installed a 12" Kicker Solo-Baric L7 and a Merlin 1500 watt amp. Off Course that's going to rattle my car a little bit. We installed Dynomat on most of the obvious area, but I still have a ton a rattling. ANY SUGGESTIONS on where to install more Dynomat or any other dampening product?

Try wedging something between the window and the 3rd brake light. It has been a major source of rattles in a number of vehicles.

I'm so used to the rattling now it's almost like part of the song, dynamat didn't help me either. (12" Memphis sound solo baric speakers) Will attach some pics tomorrow.

Damn..........I forgot to fix my 3rd brake light rattle last weekend. I think I found drinking beer more important. Have to remember to fix the rattle this weekend and then drink beer after the rattle is fixed.

I had the same problem for months. I used socks and wow the difference is huge. I get dynomat for cheap so i may add that as well just to see if it helps the little things.

I am running the same 12" Kicker Solo-Baric L7 with the Kicker KX600.1 amp at full gain, and there is not too much rattle in my car.

How high did you set your gain?

I better get to fixin' on mine too. I originally went with the Infinity BassLink but it was anemic on bass and left me craving more. So I went and bought a JL 10W7 in their ProWedge enclosure and will be running a JL 500/1 along with upgrading the front stage and rear stage with JL's XR650 Components for front and XR650 Coax for the rear stage running them with JL 450/4. I am gonna keep the stock HU for now and run it's high-level outputs into an AudioControl Matrix line driver. I spent a bunch of money installing 8ga wire and all in my car for just the Infinity and now I am gonna have to take it all out. Hopefully, when I get through that it will sound good. What do you guys think?

How much distortion are you getting at full gain? I have 2 12" Pioneer and the amp is toned down. As is, shakes my entire trunk, sunglass case area....and everything else. I need to fix the rattle or sounds like crap.

Surprisingly, no distortion. I guess, it's because the box is pretty big. Some of the guys at the CT meet can vouche for me. I was blasting it, and no distortion and very little rattle, close to none. I think the only rattle came from the license plate. Everything else is bone stock.

I have toweled the brake light and added foam strips between it and the window, I now am getting some rattles back again, might need some adjusting.
As for the trunk, the plastic insert where the license plate is rattles like mad, I opened it up from the inside and it looks like it's pretty hard to get to. I dynomatted the plate so that's fine but I need to mellow this out, even though I don't hear it it bugs me when someone next to me is rattling, seems unfinished to me. I don't want to be that guy!!!
