Installed Magnaflows
I know theres a few exhaust threads on here right now but I figured you guys didnt wanna read through them again so I made a new post. I just bought and installed new Magnaflows # 14816. I had my guy remove the resonator and pretty much make it a full cat-back system. Its a bit louder than what I was wanting, I mean it dosent sound too bad outside, but once your in it its pretty overwhelming. Tomorrow im goin back and have a much smaller res. put back on. Heres a couple of pics...
Im liking it alot better than what I had... (wheels and all)
I made a video but putfile isnt working right now. Any other places to host??

KC, Gl;ad you got rid of the "sewer pipe" exhaust. The twin tips look MUCH better and close to stock. I personally prefer twin ovals, but the twin rounds are good. What resonator are you going with. Try to evaluate how the sound is with and without resonator. Im curious for when I get an exhaust.

Looking good KC, I have the same mufflers and it looks like they are a little bit uneven like mine (mine a bit more though), I think it"s the muffler not the install...I feel better.
They do look better than the old ones and the rims are sweet too!!
It's like a new Max for you...

Yeah Ive noticed that they do sit kinda funny. It is the actuall muffler though... I got all the pipe made, the resonator removed and the mufflers hung for 50$. Its gonna cost me another 25$ tomorrow when I have them put a small res. back on. I shouldnt have taken it off in the first place. It was just one of those things you learn I guess

Ill take some pics tomorrow when I take it back. I took some today with my new phone, but im not used to having to hit save afterwards and I keep eraseing all my damn pictures..!

Looking good KC...sorry I couldn't get any sound or video clips to you before u got the work done, but I warned you..it's loud without the resonator. I took a couple of videos yesterday with the digital camera, but it doesn't sound anywhere close to the real thing, so I never botherd sending em.
Hope it works out...did you feel any HP gain??
I didn't at first..but after two weeks or something it kicked in for some reason. I read on here somewhere that the ECU takes some time to learn the mods etc...but I'm not sure about the validity of that.

No problem, I love my sewer pipes.

If there was a good fitting rear valence that could come all the way down to the base of the Greddy tips, or even go underneath them and have them poke out of two holes (like the VW golf R32..I think thats the name of the hi performance one) It would make these aftermarket kits look great...You wouldnt see the mufflers hanging..thats what ruins it for me...or even if maybe the mufflers were painted black..that would look great too, and be even cheaper. If I ever get an exhaust I will consider painting the chrome mufflers with a high temp flat black.

Ramberg: As long as krap doesnt come out ur sewer pipes ur good to go. I think if a kit hung down below the mufflr it would look too low. Im not sure there is a way to make the sewer pipes look that good, but the paint idea would help.

Since I already have lowering springs, I will not install a body kit. Here in Brooklyn with the messed up streets, I would be scraping the bottom of the kit. I have no reason to hide my Greddy. Is the Magnaflow a cat back system?

Send the files to jp@angelsofwar.org and I'll host them for you on my server. Put maxima.org and your name in the subject and I'll e-mail you the link to the file back so you can post it. Psst I like my Max quiet. :P

Yeah it did sound good, but being inside the car at 60 mph, I couldnt even hear my self think. The droaning was so loud it would knock my radar detector off the glass! My wife and I had a little girl almost 3mo's ago and I have to think about her in the car now... It still sounds awsome the way it is, just more outside the car than in.
