doesnt look like its opened.
why do you think that, because of that yellow residue thats around the lens?
Look at the front of the headlight, it should say d2S, if it does, then its a real HID headlamp and it wouldnt need to be opened.

They were off a totalled max... damage in rear had no effect on front engine and parts..
try ebay from time to time...
Thanks guys for your input...
I decided to go with the full replacement since it was much less hastle and all OEM (cant get better than that).
I have my last final exam today so I should start workin on them tomorow.. will post pics

The conversion kits aren't hard to put in at all but at the cost you got those its probably alot better idea to get the factory done setup.
The only part of the conversion that takes longer is plugging the bulb into the assembly and then mounting the ballast before replacing the assembly. Maybe an extra 30-45 minutes at the most. I took at that long to make sure it was done right, and I still screwed it up.
Ripped the damn wires out of the ballast when pushing the assembly into the vehicle. Wires were 1-2 inches too short.
I elected to do the conversion because I was offered $265 shipped for a 5000k conversion kit. He offered me a great price because I was the first to try it on a Maxima that he knew of and he wanted it tested.
