ECU For 2005 Max SE?

Proud owner of a new 2005 SE 6-speed, silver.

Anyone have a decent ECU upgrade?

Technosquare is supposed to be worknig on one. Maybe Jim Wolfe too. But no one presently has one. I think there are some fakes on eBay.

I'm guessing CAI and Y pipe.

How about a fog rewire (did that on my 99) that will allow the fogs to be on with the running lights?

A friend in my neighborhood has a g35 coupe and i got to talking to him. He was mentioning that the way the ecu's are wired up with the obe II, that reseting ur ecu will actually adjust to the way u drive. So if u have a heavy foot, ur car may rip down the road, if u drive like miss daisy, it should give u better gas milage. But the forum he read this on didn't really mention how to reset the ecu, they said unplug the battery and hit the brake 5 times and other crazy shizal. Anyone know if this is true for the max also?

I don't know if the Max has an adaptive ECU like that... I know my other car did and the dealer was really finicky about break-in instructions, and when you disconnect the battery everything is reset (shift points for the AT transmission based on how you drive, etc). In the case of this car, I've seen that "reset the ECU" process, mostly in the intake threads to clear out the SES light... and yeah, it's crazy stuff like that.

Do a search for it and you'll find it... but I don't know if resetting the ECU will actually help. Although it makes sense that it might, since you drive the car like Ms. Daisy during break-in, and that's certainly not the way you drive the car afterwards...

From what I understand, the ECU will adapt....but will eventually even out in the long run. It adapts to fuel changes as well. A ECU reset might make you think it gives a boost, but it will be short lived. On my LS1, alot of us after a major mod did a reset....makes a difference for a few days, but eventually goes back. I feel more of a difference driving in cold weather than in the hot summer weather and humidity as far as performance.
