Have you ever felt............

have you ever been bored and took the max out for a "spin around the block" if you will, and got the urge to step on the throttle abit, the car just pulls hard then the torque of the engine gets in you body so much you start to feel your blood tense up and in your head you say:

DAMN I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!!

do you guys feel the car like I do, or am I crazy?....

***** not a racing thread so don't post street racing stories, this is just a thread on how much you love your car ******

....I feel what you're saying. I at times have found myself taking a few trips around my way for that sole purpose. Be the first car in at the red light, as soon as it turns green just be the first car out to get the true feeling of this car and the wind on my face. After doing that it usually turns to someone trying to gun it with me, but that's a whole different topic. I have the factory exhaust and I actually like how it sounds. Sounds impressively aggressive when you get the car going.

I've only had my 05 SE for 36 hours and I've already done exactly that 3 times. After I finish writing this reply I think I'm going for number 4!!!!

My Max has provided me with therapy for a rough day or just about anything. The adrenaline is addicting. Even knowing that getting on the highway, if there is room you can make it in easily, the heart still races hitting 60 in those few seconds.Needing to slow down before you realize you're passing too many people adds to the excitement.

2k4, damn, thats really hard to read brotha!!

Yes Tek, I know what you mean. My car was in the shop for a few days this week, and when I got it back, DAMN, I forgot how much I loved it and the power after driving an SUV for a couple days.

It really is such a great car. I think we all get too bogged down in complaints and stuff and we forget this sometimes also.....

man I almost rolled my buddy's Escape and thought "damn this truck is slow" when we went up to PSU for the weekend. Gotta remind myself nothing else I may drive is a Max and to be patient with the gas and take those turns easier.
Sitting back down low and comfortable was bliss when I got home. I may get worse once this RSB comes.

I didn't use the "manualmatic" option before, but now I love it.. feeling going to almost redline and the power produced from 3000rpms-5000rpms is addictive...

Let me get my post in then, before it gets locked down....

I am still trying to sell my old car (1998 Ford Escort ZX2). So every few days or so I get in it for a quick spin around the block to keep the moving parts flowing...... and everytime I swear it gets harder and harder!!!

Dont get me wrong, the escort was a good car for me to get through UCLA, reliable, fuel efficient, quick, etc.......

But now, everytime I have to take it out I keep thinking..."HOW THE HELL DID I EVER DRIVE THIS PIECE OF $HIT!!!!" Its like I'm hauling a ton of bricks in that car that its so slow compared to the MAX!!!

Oh well, the cool thing is that everytime I get to hop back into my Max and FLOOR IT!!! HAHAHA

i hate to break you bubble but 155 is impossible. the car is limited by the computer to 145, so if you think you went 155 you're wrong; if you swear to it you're lying.

I feel you....I don't drive my car hard....but every now and then when I'm on Rt. 280 or Rt.78 in New Jersey, I like to floor it and just feel the power of this car and just hearing the wheels spin just makes me say "DAMN!!!"....I sometimes have to take a step back and realize this car has alot freakin' power and it makes me forget all about my Galant I use to own (I miss it at times, because I tricked it out just the way I wanted it only to have it destroyed by a stolen car). But at the end of the day.....I love driving the Max.....it just a fun car to drive.....period.

I do drive my car hard, probably too hard, hence my recent tickets...
But I'll tell you what, when I get on it and the max pushes me back in my seat and I HAVE to hold on tight due to torque steer, I LOVE IT!!!

Nice thread Tek, I'm feeling you!!!!

I like when you are on the road and another 6th gen rolls by and you think "Dang, do I look that good rolling down the street also??" I also love it in the mornings when there are few people out and about and you can really just be 1 with the car...

Had my two 05 Max SE's (wifes and mine) for two weeks now and I'm still amazed by how much fun I get driving these cars. Wife had a 2000 Accord EXL V6 which was just an appliance to her, now with the new Max she finds ways to drive to and from work and shopping the long way just to drive. She loves the car so much that I'm going to be her hero for getting her the Max instead of another Accord for many many years to come. As for me, I just plain love this car and I traded a pristine 2002 Sebring Convertible LXI that I thought I would never give up for a 4 door sedan. I too find myself looking for excuses just to drive this car. Even bought a couple of California dusters to keep the dust/dirt off, during the dry San Antonio summers, between car washes.

Off the subject some, but I've got a question. Why won't this forum allow me to post a new thread? I'm registered and have had no warnings, etc. about my relpy posts, but I can't post new threads. Anybody got an idea what's wrong?

^^^ I think you have to hit 20 posts before you can post a new thread. I think the reasoning was to stop spamming.

Tek, you hit it right on there. The power in this range is just awesome. Thats where I really like my intake the most, getting to hear the roar of those pistons pumpin.

3rd gear....getting up to 80+ is just too much fun!

20 posts. H'mm. Couldn't find anything that said that at registration time and never got an email back about this when I sent an email to the forum about this. Oh well, I'll get to 20 in about a week or so as I just don't want to post replies just to make this 20 post quota.

However, since I'm posting here again and it's about how much you love your Max, got another question.

Should I pinstripe my new Max's or not. The pinstripe is a hand painted (not tape) two line stipe that can be one or two different colors. It's free from the dealership I bought mine from and will include a Nissan emblem just as the front fender nears the door panel. Just don't know what to do and I am looking for some advice. Don't want to screw up the lines of the car, but the two tone stipe and logo might really look good. I was thinking of a grey and black stripe on my Liquid Silver and and a tan and gold stripe on my wifes Coral Sand. Any and all help would be appreciated

I may just have to give it a shot. I have been babying it since my '05 SE only has about 800 miles on it. I've had 4 other maximas before and loved every one of them, but this one is amazing......and I haven't even got into it hard yet. It is a fun car to drive. I too find myself trying to get it from my wife to go for a cruise. She loves it so much that she labels it as "her car" so I am forced to drive the Tahoe.

automanual in 2nd gear, a spiraling interchange, and no one in front of me... the factory 18's flatten the curve out. i see a yellow sign that suggests i should be doing about 35mph but i'm definitely not taking that suggestion and as the spiral comes to an end i drop the gas, shift into 3rd and begin drooling as i reach about 70mph then shift into 4th and somehow the corners of my mouth turn up instantaneously as i am pushed back into my seat.

pure joy

Well, we did enjoy our max for 36 hours. That 118 miles was great! Then I got rearended at a stop light, 18k worth of damage (just a couple K short of totaling her out). It's been 3 weeks, hopefully we get our baby back this week.

But for those 2 days, holy ****, what a sweet ride! Fast and comfortable, who'da thunk it?

I love this car, bordering on obsession. I also enjoy being first at a stop light and leaving everyone behind on green, highway on ramps and oh yah just give me an excuse to pass (or not). This car is amazing. It does require monitoring or before you know it your speed has drifted into the category to make a cops quota (I hear ya tubells, although I do love to "zip" through Toronto). When I walk by the door to the garage at home I usually have to peek in and see how good my baby looks.
