anyone feel their car is slower?
since i had my tire popped and was running on spares for couple of days..and now i switched back to regular tire and i notice ALOT OF POWER LOSE....when i push hard the gears dont seem to catch up and catch down fast enough..my car has 14000 miles now and i felt like losing some power after 8000 miles.does anyone feel losing power after putting on some miles?,.,can it be the tires that could cause loss of power feeling and some alignment shaking....sorry for my bad english...

Yep. My car does feel a little slower and less responsive. I mash the gas and it seems like the car has to think first before it downshifts to a lower gear. I mean, I'll be in 5th and when I floor it seems like it doesn't want to downshift and go the way it used to when I bought the car. This happened after I hit 7500 miles.

you guys are just used to it. drive any other car for a day and you'll feel better.
as long as you perform the maintenance mentioned above and oil changes. of course depending on how hard you drive, you may cause oil and tranny fluid to need changing earlier.
it will also drive different depending on whether it's warm or cold and if you always allow it to warm before pushing it.

I don't think this is my imagination. I thought it was maybe some bad gas, so the next three tanks I refilled at 3 different stations. Same exact problem.
For example, if I am cruising on the highway at 60 mph, and want to floor it so I could overtake another slower car in my lane, as soon as I floor it, it takes up to two seconds to process whether it should shift to 3rd or 4th gear, and then it eventually shifts and the car begins to scoot.
This is odd because when I first bought the car, the slightest throttle press and it would want to shift down a gear. Now it seems like the car is trying to use more of its torque to move the car, instead of downshifting to a lower gear.
The oil was just changed and I don't drive it much since I've been off of work for 3 months, and I always let the engine warm up at speed on the highways before I floor it.

Your car contains an adaptive ECM and will profile itself to your driving style, pull the battery cable (30 min) then drive it like you stole it for awhile, all will be good. My friends auto Max is driven mostly by his wife and it drives like crap, slow shifting, in gear to long........... Running on a donut could have tossed a curve ball to the ECM.

i got used to the max's high hp, but after driving a camry for a day or two i really realized the difference and got the same feeling as the first day i bought my car. i guess u take things for granted after you have it for a while. but i am pretty sure Proceedbob is right about the ecm, it does it to get better mpg to by suiting ur driving style.

I agree. You get used to the power after a while. My car prior to the Maxima was a 420 hp 1985 Camaro that ran 12.30's with nothing more than the addition of ET Streets. That was my daily driver. after a couple months it felt slow to me until I had a friend drive while I was in the passenger seat. Nothing feels slow when you are pushed back in your seat that deep at 110 MPH...

yes when im on manumatic..it seems to really full but kinda feels like little harsh on my ride when the rpm climbs 5k ish...well maybe tire rotation is the problem or like nismo said maybe im use to it..so i decided to drive my old 2001 TL for a while...

80 downshift to 3rd gave me around 4.5k RPM all the way thru redline car pulled crazy hard..but than again put it on auto and car shifting was kinda delayed.

along with becoming accustomed to the strength and speed of the VQ (making it seems slower once the newness wears), driving in Manual-mode, feeling those RPM soar will also make Auto seem sluggish.

remember that while on drive it becomes a smooth ride and it tries to save fuel as well... so thats the reason for the delay and early shifts.. the car tries to keep rpm under 3000 with every shift and is not suppose to bury you in the seat....
its pretty much made for fuel consumption and comfort..........
