Hey, if they sold chrome door handles for the 6th gen Max....I would buy...

call me CHROME MEMBER...."I love Chrome"

LOL.

If done tastefull...they would match.

You have to look at what you are going for, with a car that has chrome like mine....you could pull it off. Actually, if someone would like to see how it looks to test it, buy some cheap chrome tape, put in on for a pic. Not saying to keep some ghetto chrome tape on, but would be a cheap 3 buck pic to see if the 6th gen could pull it off. Again, if you have no chrome on your car, no billet, no chrome side pillars.....would look out of place. For a car you need a theme....what you are going for. You guys get what I mean.

TO each his or her own though. Do what makes you happy.

Picture of my Handle .....

Hi all ,

Just for interest sake here is a picture of my handle..9.8"x 1.5"

Don't be saying my cars not clean , we just had 500mm of rain in 16 hours and I really happy I live on top of a hill as I have seen about 50 cars floating around...

I say no to this project, the lines on the side of the Max are nice and clean, seems like chrome door handles would mess up the flow...
I don't like the chrome pillars either though, same issue but messes up the flow of the windows...

Your door handles look hot on your ride because of the chrome accents your vehicle came with. They do have a classey look about them that may go well with an SL luxury max. On SE's, I vote no, however the option should still be available for the Org chrome lovers (make it an option or aftermarket accessory). Mine will stay color keyed. One closing note, recently at the local Nissan Stealership I noted the cover around the shifters and door handles inside the 2005's Max/Altima's were now chrome verse silver looking like in the 04. Chrome looks great new, but once the scratches come and the fading starts, $uck city...

I echo your sentiments. The body of the Maxima looks better, in my opinion, with less "busyness" and clutter.

04BlackMaxx - if there were really significant changes, we would already know.

There are many (like myself) who read the fine print in the major auto mags and surf the net searching for anything on the '06 Maxima. The fact nothing is 'out there' tells me there will be no startling changes.

Probably every change that will be made has already been suggested somewhere in this thread. Of course, there have also been suggestions here that we won't see on the '06, as well.

I think a little more power will be mandatory, considering we have been passed by our primary competition. But I would be surprised if we had more than 25 HP added; maybe less.

And the front and rear minor cosmetic changes are mandatory on the third year of any gen. Everything else is supposition.

For about six months, I have been suggesting a quiet sage green as a color to be added in '06. Now, it seems the major manufacturers have decided blue is the 'in' color for the next several years. Could we see a slightly lighter dusty blue on the '06? Would that be too closely related to the very nice Majestic Blue, which I'm sure will be kept? Stay tuned.

They will prbably flip the light and rearrange minor things. I am going on the way they did the4th gen max and the the fifth most changes were hardly noticeable. If you were not a fan of the car most cant tell the difference . That would seem the reason for not putting it out. Hey we love or max's and most of us can spot changes as aoon as we look at. Just my opinion

I agree with minor cosmetic changes like head (blacked out?) and tail lights (LED?), front bumper/lip, and maybe 25th ann. badge. They might add 5-10 hp like the Altima to keep up, I'd be surprised if more too.

I agree that there will only be minor cosmetic changes in the 06. My friend that works at the factory said that they are only shutting down for 1 week this year. That would be in line with the fact that the Smyrna based models shouldn't be very different as the plant has shut down for 2 weeks in the past with fewer models being manufactured.

06 changes to 350Z...wonder if 06 Max might do similar?

Well, had to post something different. Not sure on the validity of these pics but seem to be pics of the 06 350Z. I like the LED tail lights.....head lights look weird. Again, just still waiting on what the 06 Max will do. I imagine a few HP....different tail lights and headlights might be a possibility....time will tell.

Nothing really drastic for the 350Z....but again....just some Nissan changes.

They should be starting to make them really soon, like sometime this month, and hopefully we will get to see or at least hear some news about the 06 by the beginning of August.

Yep...wonder if we can retrofit them to a 04-05 Maxima. The BMW guys do it.

Like the G35 sedan, they shouldn't change the rear end of the car. If the new taillights are LEDs, the housing should remain the same unless the engineers went back to the drawing board.

They just need to change the hideous front of the 6th gen. I absolutely hate the headlights, especially how they wrap around into the fenders. *gags*

I talked to a nissan rep. he said the Z pictures are the '06 Z, 300hp is now standard with all 6spds, as are 18" wheels and HIDs, The Murano is getting minor updates as well. expect the 06 max grill to be more chip resistant, but not much different in styling. as far as the Altima expect a 4cyl. SE-R model, the 6cyl SE-R coupe will follow in '07 as will the Hybrid 4door. the 7th Gen max will most likely be RWD or AWD with RWD bias a la M45 Sport including the rear steering assist, back up camera, updated DVD Nav, interior revisions (no more mouse fur), also expect the 3.5 to be bumped to 290-300 hp to over take the Avalon.

Oooooohhhh!!! Chip-resistant grill. 4-banger SE-R Altima, but why? Alti coupe and hybrid are good addition to the line up. 300HP AWD 7th gen RWD 7th gen .

Awesome information, are you sure the guy who told you this is reputable, because it sounds awesome and hope it comes true. So the grill will be made more chip resistant, but will they change the big tooth thing in the middle? So the 7th gen Maxima is expected to have about 300 hp and be AWD or RWD? It seems that Nissan would take the Max to AWD instead of RWD, but either would be awesome. I figured that Nissan would move the 3.5 engine out of the Max, and put one of their bigger engines in it.

I just read this article:
http://www.the-ipod.com/January_11,_...n_in_2005.html

It says iPod will be introduced by Nissan in 2005. Does anybody know if this will be incorporated into the 2006 maxima?

If so, It's well worth it to me to wait until the 06 comes out before I buy

OK so I spoke with the president and GM of my dealership that just went on a big golf outing with the big wigs at NISSAN... Expect to see Blue Tooth in the 06 Maxima's also the back up camera. As stated by the president, I asked about the rear wheel drive and he wasn't sure. The horse power may be bosted a little but not sure, they are trying harder to compete with the avalon. If I here anything else I'll let you all know.

salesman told me today: Nothing. maybe a surprise or two, but nothing is supposed to change at all. I mentioned how the 35th Z is overshadowing the 25th Max. He agreed it's all about the Z right now. And the buzz about the Hybrid Altima. Both are giving the Max the backdoor. Of course he was yet another new face and knows no more than what he needs to sell them off the lot.

The bluetooth and backup camera will be really cool. I wonder if they are going to change the grill for the 6.5 gen or wait til 7 gen. I thought that they would take the Max AWD instead of RWD in the 7th gen. Yeah, the Max is taking a backseat right now, but hopefully since the Altima and Z are hopefully close to been worked out, they will focus on the 7th gen Max and make it really hot.

I hope that they allow for 04 and 05 max's to be able to purchase the back up camera and bluetooth from the dealer and have them intergrate them into our cars. i do expect about 275hp from the new maxima and look for the engine to get quiter if they are going to compete with the Avalon also we might see some new interior changes maybe more of a better wood touch or actual leather on the door panels.

I hope the don't quiet down the SE model because there'll be less sports in the sedan. The leather on door panel will require an additional term to the auto dictionary between leather seating surface and full leather interior. Does the Avalon XLS have full leather? The Lexus ES only has leather on-your-butt!

I think someone on here said that they are replacing the door material, but I am not sure with what, I would hope that it would be leather.
