My bracket broke twice. once at the bolt and also broke off the tube. I sent e-mails to Injen and have not received any answers. 212 motoring who did the install was able to get me a new tube for free. My best friend chernmax has a fix. He did his and mine and have not had a problems since. Check out his page 4 on Cardomain and if you need more information, send him PM on this org. By the way how are you doing? Warren

My bracket has broken off were it meets the intake tubing twice and now I have a broken vibra mount. Called injen, they told me to buy the part for 10 bucks and that they've never had problems with it, I even emailed them a link to a thread on this forum about issues with there vibramounts and still nothing from them. My quick fix is zip ties and electrical tape

But when i had to get new cold air intake tubing ( under warranty) I turned the injen intake into a short ram intake, just moved the filter up to where the cold air piece used to mount as a temporary solution till i recieved the new piece.

How many have had problems with bracket on the Injen CAI?

Injen is telling members that they have no problems with the bracket. They are FOS. I would like to make a list of members who have had this problem, so that I can call Injen. Thanks Warren

Warren, count me in on the F&%ken Injen Bracket broke list!!!

My Fix, about $20 clams:
Parts Used:
1- ROL Exhaust heavy duty tail pipe hanger.
2- 2 RE Works High Grade Aluminum Quick Release Racing Clamps

The task: Using a vice, I bent the Exhaust bracket in a 90 degree angle and attached it to the lower engine mounting bolt just below the Injen, using 1 clamp, I added a new forward midbody support clamp by hooking it around the Exhaust Hanging bracket U-hook, (The Rubber vibration spacer allowed it to twist nicely into place and is 50 times stronger than the stock shock mount).

Another benefit; the bracket is now mounted under the CAI and eliminated all stress on the mounting hardware. I also replaced the rear bracket (not required, however stronger), tightened down all. Job time, 17 minutes...

Job time did not include detailing which I highly recommend.

I have the injen sitting in my basement waiting to be installed. I guess I'll follow Chernmax's fix so I wont have the problems of the stock parts breaking.

thanks

3 months after installing, the rubber shock mount split in half, I kinda fixed it (Glue and Electrical tape) and then 2 months later, the F&%ken bracket weld goes...

Just tell him to break it now, than fix it. Why wait for something that WILL eventually happen...

lol.. thats soo true just fix it now... i got mines in november, installed it at the end of february when the weather got better...The place where i got my intake told me to bring the vibra mount to him, and he will have it replaced, because us consumers arent good enough for injen to listen to... since he is an authorized injen dealer, they WILL replace it and it will be done quicker. the only problem is.. that i lost the huge chunk of the rubber portion of it while driving.. all i have is the screwed in portion in the engine bay wall.

It seems that someone who owns stock in Injen knocked off my tread. I think I should have been given a reason for taking it off. Warren

04 black max se 6-speed. I have a question for those with the injen cai. My injen cai makes a metallic noise that peaks at about 5k and 6k rpm. It gets loud at five, dies down, then loud again at six.Is that normal?

Hi, I just wanted to let you know this is a known issue with all bushings of this kind for the last 10 years. The problem arises when you torque the bolt to tight. The solution is not to tighten it too much.

I would like to inform that this rubber bushing is to allow some flex. In time, your mod may give way and the Intake tubing could start hitting against the frame. From time to time make sure to check for this.

To note, a car who's Intake Tubing Bushing is prone to breakage and ends up hitting the frame is the Honda Accord V6s 1998-2004.

I understand what the rubber bushing is for, however what mod are you referring too that may hit the frame??? The current Injen install with the piece of **** rubber bushing connector or ??? My fix has been rock solid for over a year with zero rubbing...

injen is a nice piece, I went with the berk becuase I herd it was a very good piece, dont have to worry about the water sucking problem, and was about $100 bucks cheaper....as far as gains, your not breaking no speed records with it, but as far as sound, it screams like a manaic when floored.

Please explain how tightening the bolt too tight causes the rubber shock mount to split in half. Loose or tight, the bolt has no flex, the defect is the rubber shock mount's forward location, angle, and the thickness (diameter) cannot support the weight or flex of the Injen CAI under normal or loaded conditions. Injen needs a bracket that supports the CAI from the bottom, vice the side for a more solid and stable fit.
