Not in a good mood...

Today my brother told me he would wash my car if I let him use it to take a girl out... AND I SAID OK! I don't know what came to me, but I SAID OK! Not a good idea. He comes back, I inspect the outside of Maximus, and there's a scratch on the front/pass side wheel 3 inches high, 3 inches long. I ask him and he says "Oops I banged it to a sidewalk a little, but it's not that deep"... NOT THAT DEEP! I thought for a moment on grabbing him by the neck and pulling his tongue out of his mouth, but then I realized : ITS MY FAULT! HE DRIVES A MONTERO! I'm never letting anyone drive my Max again, unless I'm bleeding to death. Then I might let somebody hold the steering wheel while I try to not drip any blood on the driver's seat.... Will post pics later...

P.D. Can that be fixed, or do I need a new rim??? Anybody has fixed this kind of problem? And no, I'm not getting aftermarket wheels...

Here's a link to a write up on repairing a scuffed wheel. http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext43.shtml

I'm not sure if it'll take care of your problem or not but it's worth a look.

There are shops that may be able to machine that out. If you can't find one yourself, perhaps talk to a reputable auto detailer and they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Why did you let anyone drive your Max?

My friend who sold me mine said getting a scratch on those wheels is not good. I guess maybe the finish on the wheels has something to do with it. Don't let anyone near your Max!

Maybe a reason to powdercoat those babies. ... change it up....

Did your brother at least get laid? Check the back seat for empty wrappers yet?

I couldn't remember who I had posted that for. I wanted to check and see if it worked out okay. I'm glad it did.

jesus, it think his montero is nice enough for him to take a date out in. shouldn't matter wtf kind of car you have anyway as long as it's clean and comfortable. you should have said "no take her out in your montero". anyone who's taking out and spending money on someone who cares about the car is a moron anyway. oh wait, most of america is materialistic i forgot. i guess it's the norm.

Great site. It looks like a lot of work. But its better than buying a new wheel.

You should check out some of the rim shops in your area. Some rims can be repaired.

Well I guess he got laid, but not in my car (THANK GOD!). And his is a '95 Montero, so it has already seen its best times pass by...
Anyway he is a gearhead. I lend him my PT when it was brand new, my Ram 1500 when it was brand new, and now the MAX... But I definitely learned my lesson now.

come on man. It's your brother. I am pretty sure that he didn't do it on purpose. I would personaly always give my car to my sister-it makes me feel good for helping her out. Call me weird but i would do anything for my family...
