Display/Personal Settings Menu 04-06 (07-08 see bottom note!!!)

NismoMax80 asked me to write a sticky to explain the personal settings menu for the 6th gens better than the manual that tells us almost nothing.

1) When you first hit the settings button the screen asks you if you want the display on or off, this should be pretty self explanatory. Move the star with the joystick to ON for the display to show, and OFF if you do not want the display to show.

2) The next time you hit the settings button it asks what language you want the display in, English or French. Select a language and move on.

3) Hit the settings button again and it will ask you if you want the display to beep when you choose a setting. Pick ON or OFF and move on.

4) The next time you hit the settings button it will ask if you want the service alert on or off. This will alert you when your car is in need of an oil change or tire rotation.

5) Hit the button a 5th time and it will bring you to the Personal Settings Menu.
MAKE SURE CAR IS IN PARK. Engine does not need to be running. To move in between the settings use the joystick up or down:

A) Slide seat on exit – this slides the seat back when you exit the vehicle, do not worry, it will slide back when you get back in and put the key in. (If you bump a seat or wheel adjustment, you will need to select your memory 1 or 2, or manually return it to your desired position)

B) Lift wheel on exit - this lifts the wheel up when you exit the vehicle, do not worry, this too will come back to your original setting when you get back in and put the key in. (If you bump a seat or wheel adjustment, you will need to select your memory 1 or 2, or manually return it to your desired position)

C) Remote unlock door logic – this determines how your keyfob will unlock your doors. The DR-1st unlocks the drivers door on the 1st press of the unlock button, and then the other doors on the second press of the unlock button. The ALL setting unlocks all of the doors on the 1st press of the keyfob unlock button.

D) Horn chirp w/ remote – this setting will make the horn chirp when you lock the car with the keyfob if it is turned to ON.

E) Lamps flash with remote – this setting will make the lamps flash when you unlock or lock, or both, or you can chose for the lamps not to flash. Use the joystick to toggle through these settings.

F) Auto relock time This setting determines how long after you leave your vehicle for the doors to automatically relock. Use the joystick to toggle through the off/1min/5 min settings. Doors will not relock when keys are in the ignition.
***THIS IS FALSE. I played with it and have concluded:
Relock ONLY works when you DISARM/UNLOCK the vehicle with key or keyfob AND the door(s) are not reclosed. Appears this is a safety issue incase the car is unintentionally disarmed (bumping unlock on keyfob). If you get out, IT WILL NOT Autolock.NismoMax80***

G) AUTO headlamp sensitivity – This setting determines the sensitivity of light required for your headlamps to turn on automatically. 1 is the least sensitive, 2 is default, and 4 is the most sensitive. Use the joystick to toggle through these settings. ***see bottom

H) AUTO headlamp off delay – This setting determines the amount of time it takes for your headlamps to automatically turn off for AUTO. Use the joystick to toggle through: Off (doors close)-30sec-45sec-60sec-90sec-120sec-150sec-180sec interval settings.
This setting only works when you use the AUTO feature with the headlights. If you have them set to ON they will automatically shut off after 5 minutes to preserve the battery.

I) Speed Sensitive Wiper interval – This setting determines if you want the wiper intervals to be speed sensitive. The ON/OFF options should be self explanatory. This setting only affects the first wiper position not LOW or HI.

J) Confirm reset settings – To confirm all the settings you have just changed, chose the YES option.

K) Confirm reset ALL settings – To reset all back to default settings. Do not agree to this if you made changes.

As far as the audio options go, you can have the display tell you the CD title, track title and time, or just CD and track number and time by pushing the Audio **** on the right. Most factory CDs do not have this feature, but if you burn a CD-R with the track titles it will work. If equipped with SAT, you can access the same displays. If you hit the **** once, it will display everything. Finally the SSV (speed sensitive volume) settings can be adjusted to high, medium, or low. This adjusts your volume based on the speed of the vehicle; I suggest off, the volume changing while you drive can just get annoying. Low will be noticed the least, High the most.

Hope this helps…

2007-2008 NON-NAV
dealer must make these changes for you. and they will only do it within the 3 year/36k period. afterwards it is a computer usuage charge.

NAVI owners are capable of making these changes on screen.
(though I'm not sure yet if exactly the same as 6.0)
