The kits now have the updates, they are just not announced yet. We updated the wire to one of better quality (higher temp-resistance, higher strand count), gold-plated terminals, use of different terminal sizes for perfect bolt fitment. The final difference which has not been implemented yet is that we'll be using stainless steel hardware.....that will not be added until the price change goes into effect though. The SS hardware will not affect the performance of the kit though. And of course the new red wire.

active tuning, the wires you sent me back in may were gold plated terminals.

I can deal without the zip ties... those wires are on so tight, nothing will make them move around that they need to be zip tied!

Yup, we actually switched 100% over to gold-plated in June. Throughout May/June some kits were going out with gold-plated and others were the regular terminals. Now 100% of the kits are gold-plated terminals. Now we're basicaly waiting for all of the non-SS hardware to be used up, and then we will make the official announcements on everything.

they also have another flaw... and its this wire... we are to hook a wire up on this harness by the engine mount... and we dont have that, this is for a 2002+ altima...

what I did was just hook it up to a bolt on top of the tranny..

You're right. I thought I was just looking at the picture wrong. For those of you that haven't hooked it up already, if you look directly down at the automatic transmission you will see a bracket holding a group of wires in place. Mount the transmission ground to the bolt that is holding the bracket.

what?

I was at a High-Fi store by my house and they told me its a good idea. I was wondering what all the lenghts of cable are as I'm going to make my own, using 4G wire and Gold Plated Ring Ends. Total cost to me is $26CA. So a little better price.

Anywhoo, can someone let me know the exact lenghts of the wires?

Thanks,

Kam

I would buy one bulk length (10ft) this gives you a little extra in the event of a manufacturing error and since the original kit was made for an Altima, feedback recieved stated some points (Point A to B) were tight and had little slack in the line.

I recommend a little slack that can be Tie Wrapped back and flex with the engine bay than tight and risk pulling the connector out of the ground wire... Good luck...

will do sir

I'm debating on also removing the stock negative terminal and mounting in a gold plated one and then having my ground go to that.

What are your thoughts on this, since seeing your job im still drooling.

It's not only a great idea but if you can get the 24K gold plated Marine terminal (Auto Zone or where ever) it is of much better quality.

I love the way I only have to loosen a wing nut in the event I have to take the terminal off. I also manuafactured a solid brass cross bar to attach each ground wire vice stacking them. Good luck...

Screw it!

So here it goes, I kept seeing the grounding kit thread all over the place. But because I hate getting things shipped from the states (no free shipping to the great white north, customs fees, stupis @ss UPS guy and lack of patience) I decided to build my own for less with nicer stuff.

Anywhoo so here it goes,

I made my own grounding kit, 4G copper strand wire, gold plated o-ring terminals, sylglide, I live in the great white north so i also used some soder, sodering gun and more sylglide to prevent any form of rusting.

Anywho, here is my total cost.

20.00 Canadian Dollar = 16.43 US Dollar as per.

http://money.cnn.com/markets/currencies/

Yeah pretty FOOKIN cheap eh?

Now to be totaly honest with you, the gold plated terminals are hammer down, yes you smash them with a hammer and they have ribbed teeth the bite into the wire. I also used a solder to melt in solder into the wire. The electrical solder gun was shizzled so i grabbed a torch out of the garage and just heated the wire with that. Careful not to melt the plastic shroud!!!

Anywhoo, so i made the wires in about a total of 20 minutes, including cutting, smashing, welding, sylgliding, and covering and remeasuring (twice). I also added an extra half inch per side.

The install was a biatch and two halfs, HOT, HOT and more FOOKIN hot.

30 minutes just wont cut it, unless you have some kind of magical powers and you know how to make bolts unscrew them selves like that Harry Potter character. Look more toward the better end of an hour, hour and a half if your taking pictures.

Test your grounds to make sure you actually have a connection.

In the end does it make a difference?

ABSOLUTELY not!..................

maybe over time, but the stock ground from Nissan designs should be solid enough. Unless you like tinkering around, this is a perfect weekend project.

Here are my pics from the creation.

Enjoy,

Kam

I have too agree with one point, unless your a master mechanic, NO FREAKIN way 30 minutes to install with all the prep to do it properly... Yes I did a custom install, however after all the cables where cut and ready for install, it still took me over an hour+ to do the install and I work pretty fast... Just an FYI...
