I was at my friend chernmax's home this weekend and he installed the grounding kit for me. The install took about a half hour. The silver wires match my braided hoses. Since I have the 24k gold posts chernmax had to make the hole in the clip a bit bigger. No pictures since there are enough in the tread already. Warren

Quality made kit, easy to install and yes, took only 30 minutes to install and look great in rambergs ride...

On which bolts/wires did you have the make the holes bigger? We resolved this issue with a mixture of terminals that fit both 10mm and 12mm snugly depending on the application. If there's a smaller terminal that needs a larger one, we could adjust the kit to make that happen.

It the one that goes to the Neg. side of the battery. I will ask chernmax how much bigger he made the hole. Warren

Warren,

Ask if he thinks the terminal that is on the 12" cable (the shortest one) would be big enough? That cable has one small terminal and one large terminal in order to fit the 12mm bolt that is used.

Your kits are made fine, the reason we had to make one hole bigger is because Warren and I both have the 24K gold plated marine battery post terminals and the bolt diameter is bigger for our battery connection. Others will not have this problem , we just fell victim to our own custom mods...

Again, not needed since ours are custom, however Yes a 12mm would have worked, and is pretty close to what I drilled it out too...

Could have because the car feels smoother like after an overdue oil change, but with the heat it's hard to tell. My AT shifts crisper, don't know about brighter lights because I haven't driven when dark in a while.

A grounding kit is most likely not going to affect your horsepower with anything noticeable...especially not on such a new car. You may see 1-3hp at most...something you most likely won't even feel.

Hi from Montreal!

Anyone in the Montreal/Quebec City/Ottawa Area that would like to purchase the new grounding kit at $40 US. The company where I work has a warehouse in Champlain NY. I am ordering this kit soon and would be willing to wait a week until others order too. I finish at Noon on Friday's and the round trip is about 2 hours. I don't get hassled at the border when I mention where I going. I would be willing to help. You can e-mail me too at asonac@sympatico.ca.

Good luck!

I don't think it's hp gain, but less hp loss.

Lol

i made a thread about that a while ago, that my friend is oxydation. The whole point of getting a grounding kit was to avoid that on your main grounds.

SEARCH for a thread i made about that, the only way to prevent oxidation and rusting is if you seal off the ends.

Peace,

Kam

Looks like you used brake lube to seal the ends?

umm

yes but before i did that, i melted sauder in to the cable ends, that would basically gurantee the best connection plus it fills in all the little crevices in the ends. We have had some bad weather here so far and its getting pretty grimy uphere. Thus far my cables still look perfect.

Also, spray some white lithium grease on the connections after you have everything in place. This prevents oxidation from happening on the parts that have been scuffed by the wrenches.

Peace,

Kam

Those are the wires with the clear jacket on them right? That is not corrosion. The clear jacket is turning colors due to the heat from the engine. The wire I have mounted at the top of the engine towards the front is the same way.
