The Brake Setup (Stillen+Rotora's) pix!!

i got the front cross drilled rotors from stillen, and i just received delivery of my 04+ Rotora rear slotted rotors from southwestautoworks.com (sco.com)

iunno... just thought i'd share the new news. lolz enjoy

^^^ before i painted the calipers...

I don't know why he didn't, but I can answer s to why you might want to think twice about doing it at all: http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/drill.html

In fact, I've read before that with today's current technology, drilling just doesn't really add much, if anything. At one time, it was needed to help eliminate gases that were generated when braking. That isn't really needed with the different make-up of current technology pads (unless you are using some sort of exotic pad that does produce a lot of gas).

So, drilling might look cool, but in reality a stock or slotted rotor is probably a better thing, and should perform better over the long run.

Warren, actually, his fronts are drilled and his rears are slotted. I'm curious why the mismatch?

he bought them from two different places....... why? I dunno, that was his choice I guess..

nick,

you should team those up with stainless steel brake lines for more stopping power.. trust me they perform great even with a stock set up..

they are 112 shipped from a member called automax95 here on the org..

nah Ramberg, this is an easy off easy on deal... as the old one comes off the new one goes in...

real easy and yes you can do it yourself no prob... you will have to bleed your brakes after thats all..

one end screws on and the other bolts on to the caliper.. inbetween there are two clips that hold the line from hanging... thats it..

the mismatch is because im lame and i always see it on high performance cars. but it's usually slotted in the front and XD in the back...

and i didnt wanna waste more money on stillen XD. i bought the stillens knowing nothing before hand that they were drilled stock rotors. so... i bought rotora's and plan on changing the front when i think it's time too. until then, im satisfied. no point in wasting more money lol

yea man he's a good guy very helpfull and ships quick...

you will like how the car stops after this install... I mean the car will squeel the tires when you press the pedal hard... the pedal will feel so firm..

you will need them if you get the nitrous system....

The only thing is AutoMax is gone until September, when he gets back he said he'd start up the brakes GD again. I'm patiently waiting.....

I e-mailed him and all he said is that he is out of the country and couldn't do anything until he gets back on Sept 9th. It seems like he had a pretty good biz going in the GD forum, I would have at least had someone take over while I was gone...
I'm still debating rotor pros on e-bay...

What? If your tires are squealing (not just a chirp) then something must be wrong with the anti-lock system.

mayby a chirp or so if you stomp on the brake, thats how good they are.. meaning the brakes are way better.. I've never squealed tires with a anti lock system before the stainless lines, they work great..

If you don't want to wait, you can get a set of TechnaFit for the same money. Just google for "NIS-1140" I think that's the part number.

That's who I ordered mine from, $120 shipped, I think they are better than the SS IMO:

Maxima, A34 2004- These lines consist of a teflon tube wrapped in Kevlar, then a protective coating, then the stainless and then clear shrink. Each line is pressure tested to 4000 psi. These are absolutely the best lines on the market!
