Any indepth instructions for foglight replacing?

Im really new at this, Im sure everyone was at that point. Sorry for the repeatitive question but.. Is there instructions anywhere on how to remove the stock air filter to get access to the foglight? The sticky here only says remove it. But it doesnt say how. Sorry for the really bad question, but I gotta start somewhere ^_^

start with the bracket on the side, then work your way with these instructions for a little guidance.

Do i need to take all of that out or just a certain part? Is there another way to get to the lights, i noticed after i got my car serviced for lights before, there are 4 screws missing, 2 on each side, both screws for the headlight container.

no, you dont have to remove everything, just the box that holds the air filter.

I didnt go that route when I changed mine, I removed the headlights by removing the bumper

Maybe that explains why theres screws missing that secure the headlights, If possible may i get ur way of replacing the lights thru the bumper. Just wanna see all the possible ways to do this.

Open the hood
Remove the grill
Remove the cover over the passenger side assembly
Remove the 2 screws on top of each headlight assembly
Remove about 5 plastic lock thingys from underneath the bumper
Remove 4 screws underneath the bumper (2 on each side)
If possible, remove your front tires if you have large hands/arms.
Pull back the black plastic tire well cover from the bumper edges
There are 4 screws, 2 on each side holding the bumper on, remove them.
Gently pull the bumper forward and let hang in front of the car (I didn't remove the corner lamps)
Remove 2 screws that attach the fender and headlight to the frame (1 on each side)
Remove 4 screws from the front of the headlight assemblies (2 on each side of the car)
Pull the headlights out and unclip the wiring harness.

the #1 step: Have lots of patience!!!!!!!! Take your time. Oh yea.. don't get your fingers all on the bulb.. it wont last long if you do... the oil from your fingers gets extra HOT and does not help the life span!

if you take the bumper off you may lose/or break the clips, if you need to replace them..try 1stnissanparts.com i had to replace a couple clips, and that is where i get all my oem parts, they are like 50 cents a piece

damn fellas, i know the org is about doing things youself, but that is a lot of work for changing lights no? one of my fogs just went out but i think i'll pay the dealer to fix it, that sounds like a lot of work to change a bulb, yeah i guess i'm weak like that, but after i saw "remove bumper" and "remove tires" that was too much for me

yeah it does seem like alot of work. Im still not sure which one to try - removing the air filter box or removing the bumper. removing the airfilter box probbaly has alot of steps just like the bumper method. Time to save a couple of hours/days since im new at this and give it a try. thanks for your reponses guys.

Whoa Whoa...PAL, don't tell them you have to remove the bumper to replace the Foglights...

All you need to do to replace the fogs (and signals if you wish) is this:

Passenger side:
1. Remove the plastic cover by taking out all the pushpins

2.Unscrew the two bolts holding the coolant resivoir in place, lift it out and set it aside.
(Its the tank directly behind the headlight, and directly blocking your view of the back of the headlight assemblies)
3. Remove the tube for washer fluid that sticks out by turning it 180 degrees and pulling it up.

This will give you easy access to the back of the fogs, turn the cover counter-clockwise about a quarter of a turn and you will be able to unhook the clip holding in the H3 bulb)

Driver Side:

1. Pop all the pushpins that are holding the snorkel in place and lift it out (right above the grille)
2. Take out the Air Box by loosening the screw near the MAF that you'll find right in the middle of the intake. Take out the Brass screw next to the air box, make sure the intake tube is seperated, open the air box and take out the filter, lift on the airbox until it is out.
3. This gives you very easy access to the fogs, repeat what you did ont he other side.

This whole thing takes me about 20 mins now that I have done it before....

Thanks for those steps. =) Im guess the the screw near the MAF is a screw thats with a silver ring type thing. I just got stuck after taking the brass screw out which was really really hard to get out since it was tight. Its dark now so I screwed evrything back and im gonna try tomorow -.-. Im such an idiot when dealing with cars. BUt I wanna keep trying.

Yes, after u loosen the silver ring pull the tubes apart and unclip the top of the air box...pull on it and it will separate from the bottom of the box...set this part on the engine and contuinue to pull out the bottom of the box to get to the lights...just make sure you have some time on your hands.

Pal, we were'nt knocking you for giving options, it just seems so easy without going the bumper route. I remember when I first came to the org, everybody thought the bumper removal was the only way...I guess that's why we're all here, to learn.

Well, after breaking several push pins and trying to understand the blasted method behind the engineer's madness I finally changed my fogs out

Took forever, but now that I know what to do it should go quickly.
