New RSB

I just recieved my new rear sway bar from Progress today, easiest install of my life.... although I used the dealership lifts and tools... hehe.
Anyway, after the install my shop Foreman Jesse asked me if I was going to take it out on the dealerships favorite curvy road (BigTree) to test it.... and hell yes I did.
As soon as I got near big tree this riced out "fast and furious" ghey-a$$ neon green eclpise GS starts mean-mugging me and pulling up and backing off, trying to taunt me. I knew he was all flash and NO dash so after handing him his a$$ he still followed me onto BigTree.......... Finally, I really get to test out this baby.
Anyway, we got up to about 75 around these turns and toward the end he started backing off because he kept breaking free around the bends as my maxima held tight to the road.
The best part was when I came to the stop sign at the end of the road, and I waited for him with my hazards on. He pulls up behind me and I can see him screaming and cursing in my rear view. I open my sunroof, showed him my phone number and sped away laughing.....

GOD I LOVE MY MAX!!!

I dunno about the progress vs the stillen, but as compared to my OEM it was WAY heavier, and a lil thicker, it has made a world of difference.

My stillen RSB has been sitting in my trunk for 4 months. Never had time to put it on. Exactly how easy of an instal is it? I'd rather not pay someone to do it if i can do it myself. Hopefully i'm just as happy with it as everyone else is.

you have to jack it up and remove both wheels I believe, then its a simple plug and play

Doing it on the ground has to suck big time, we put mine on a lift and it took about 10 minutes. If you can find a lift you DO NOT have to remove the wheels at all, but it might take up to an hour w/o a lift......

my friend and i jacked it up at the center point, used stands on both sides. Removed both wheels, removed brackets, snake out, snake in and brackets then wheels back on.
15-20 minutes.
btw, i added a bit more detail in the sticky to help w/ comparisons.

I did the exact same thing, however since you can only remove the bar from one side or the other, I only removed the passenger side rear wheel and got the sway bar out with no problem. The stillen, is an exact bolt line-up, since it did not come with instuctions, if the holes don't line up exact, it's on backwards... Damn mystery, 4 months, heck 1 day is too long for me once I get a new mod shipped in...

Anyway, good luck...

Difference between Stillen(still only for 04's!??) and Progress/Cattman is Stillen(22 mm) is hollow with thicker wall than stock and Progress/Cattman is a solid bar and thicker(24 mm) (info per their websites). As far as installation I put my car on a lift and only took off 1 wheel, about 20 minutes.

Smokey,
Does your car have lowering springs as well? Just wondering if you noticed all that difference from just the RSB. Sounds like a pretty good deal.

This might help or not. On the 3-gens (irs), it's alot easier to remove/install the RSB if the suspension is compressed. So if you can back up on ramps, you get the room and the suspension is still compressed.

OK, I installed mine last night and it wasn't as easy as I had hoped, so I'm offering a little advice.

1) As Smokey04Max said, if you can use a lift DO SO!
2) Have some WD-40 handy (one of my end links was rusted tight)
3) DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STARTING unlesss you have a DEEP WELL 14mm socket
4) It may help if you have someone on the other side to guide the bar when you snake it in

My time could have been cut in half if those four items had been known about before hand.

Oh, and I'd be ashamed if I were Nissan putting an anemic bar like the stock one was on this car.

I haven't had a chance to really test it out, but what I would describe so far is a more solid feel to the car with the front exhibiting less push.

I'm now debating my next suspension mod...don't know if a STB will do much, or if I may go the upgraded with an upgraded FSB (if it doesn't add back too much understeer).

The boss (my beautiful wife) probably won't go for aftermarket struts/springs, so those are probably my only options for now.

BTW, I meant to do this but forgot...

The next person to install this on an SE (and an SL for that matter), if you would, take the wheel/tire and place it on a scale. Those things seemed heavy to me...in the mid 40 range. Maybe a set of light weight aftermarket wheels is in order (if the boss will allow them that is!).

darrinps: I think you're right about teh weight of the stock rims. I heard stock rims weigh about 30 lbs. My rims weigh about 18 lbs and I feel the difference in off the line acceleration.

I did the RSB first, as well. I felt that the car was stiffer in the rear w/ RSB. After the FSTB, it feels more balanced. I'm curious about the 18" non-forged Z wheels that look like SE wheels. Other than the little dimples near lug nuts and the width, are they lighter? If they're good subsitute, bosses won't noticed.
