I contacted the dealer (Nemet Nissan) today and was told that they were sent the wrong vehicle...the one they got includes a sunroof and vdc. They also claimed that since it was their mistake they would have to take the loss. I am going to pick it up in a few hours and I hope that they don't try to jack up the agreed price of $26,500 (pre tax).

If you get that car for 26,500 you better take it and run!

The total price paid with tax (8.38%) $2446.76, tags $159, lojack $720 and drivercare (roadside assistance until 08/31/2011) $495 was $31,833.26 - $1,500 (rebate) and - $12,000 (down payment), total amount financed = $18,333.26. Driving home with my brand new Maxima - PRICELESS.
Even though I got a really good price on the car, I cannot say that I enjoyed the buying process at Nemet Nissan...The dealer whom I dealt with (Rohan Scott) never called when he said that he would. I called him yesterday morning and he told me that they were able to locate the vehicle; however they made a mistake and sent one with dpp, mats, splashguard, a sunroof and vdc but would honor the price. Given what Maximized Jiggs stated about his experience with Nemet, I was sure that they were going to try something when I got there. I did a search on the internet and found a few customer complaints, accusing Nemet of bait and switch. Needless to say I was not looking forward to going in to pick up the car. When we got to the dealership we were told that Mr. Scott had an emergency and had to leave early, however another sales person would help us out. I thought oh great, here we go with the bs (I was sure that they were going to come back with something like "We can't possibly give you that car for that price and cannot find anything in your file that states that Rohan was going to sell you that car for $26,500). Adrian seemed like a nice enough young man, he had only been there for about 3 months and he kept us waiting for what seemed like forever. Then their finance person seemed to want to rush us out of there without explaining things to us. I am not really thrilled about the 43 miles on the odometer, however I was told that since they had to locate this vehicle it had to be driven over.
Thanks allot to everyone who responded to this thread...I enjoyed driving my new Maxima to work today for the first time. It is truly a great car!!

Great deal, but why did you buy all the crap on the side?

I was told that the driverscare was a madatory dealer option ($495) because of the price of the car and I got the lojack because I live in Brooklyn. I am not sure how much AAA is but I did not think that it was too much to pay for 5 years of protection for myself and my wife.

Thats whats cool about going into the dealer with cash in hand...they can't sneak in any other options or fees. You say "look, this is all the money I have so if you want to include anything, it better be free cause I'm not paying a dime more!"
