Caliper experts........ step inside......

ok, I'm looking into a caliper upgrade on the max... I'm trying to find out if the Brembo set from the Z fit our 6th gen...

here are the specs:

"Z"
BremboŽ braking system
4-piston caliper with 12.8" x 1.18"
vented front discs and 2-piston caliper
with 12.7" x 0.87" vented rear discs

"MAXIMA"
12.60" vented front discs/11.50" rear disc brakes

the front look like would work, but are they a direct fit? the rear on the Z are alittle more than an inch bigger..

my question is, will the rear caliper fit direct and all i will have to do is get the bigger rotor or not, stick with just the front only...

I love the look of these calipers and would love to get them... help me out guru's

ABS & VDC Kaput

Hi ,

When I went looking to upgrade to four potter down under , nobody want to know about it , in fact they even would not go down the track of slotted or drilled caliper ...

The reason given was if you have ABS and or any sort of VDC changing would throw out all the computer calcs and stuff for this gear ...any truth to this statement ????

I looked into putting 300zx calipers on. I think with Matt Blehm's adaptor, it would work. And its MUCH cheaper than the Brembos from the Z or G35 coupe.

Be careful there are a lot of Not very "Brembo" disks on Ebay made in China ...which I would not trust for 5 seconds ... Be sure they are the genuine item and not some of the fakes which almost identical to the original .. execpt they are made of very poor quality metals.

i think as far as thickness is concerned they will fit over the discs. but i am sure you will have to get a good shop to fabricate an adapter for them.

yea MAXMALE,

they will fit over our rotor cause the Z rotors are thicker than ours... they are a bit bigger but not much at all so if the bolt pattern fits they can slide on no prob. I would prob use the Z rotors also..

the rear is my biggest issue.. the rear rotors are much larger on the Z vs ours and if they fit I would use a aftermarket slotted or so..
