i got a set sittin in my basement right now. i took them off my max and replaced the halogen lights when i traded her in. looking to sell if anyones interested???

also the swap was extremely easy, alot easier than i had thought. and yes it is just plug and play if you have stock maxima HID headlamps.

Quote: Why HIDs?

6th gen. halogens are very bright already, people are flashing me on 2 lane
roads, they think I'm using my high beams. Running HIDs on 2 lane roads
on hilly terrain can be risky--you can really blind an oncoming driver.
I know I hate it when I get HIDs into my eyes.

ahhh drive with them. i hate my titans halogen headlights. the coverage area at night that i got with my max's HID's was incrediable. i could see everything and inorder to do that now i have to use my highs i wish the Q56 headlights fit my titan because that would have been my first upgrade.

Agreed... the halogens in my other car are pathetic by comparison... at night I have to use the high beams when dealing with off ramps and what-not because of the lame beam pattern...

Now if we could only retrofit active headlamps into the Maxima... I used to think only MB/Lexus had those and now I see even the new Passat has them.

To me it looks like the actual lens and shutter assembly are the same but the rear bowl is different. With the different projector, does the halogen rear cap fit on the back?

Looks great... A question... I have read the Sticky on taking the lights apart, but it looks like its only on the HIR headlights... I need to know what i need to do, or take off of my HID headlights before the baking process.. I dont want to melt or hurt something... Also i have to replace the headlight clear front cover, with my HIR's since one of my HID headlight has some scratches.. Any way of fixing, or buffing out these out (most likely not)... Ill just have stock OEM HID headlights with the HIR front covers.. I will be painting the interior white/black... I hope to get this done soon.. And find out how to put in the H3 mini HID Kit i bought.. thanks....

OH, BTW, do you have pics of your lights how it looks installed, not the out put of them, but the actual lights in the car...

re
nissan recommends 3m plastic polish, as in baking 225 is good , preheat turn off then put them in , ive had mine apart at leased a dozn times , for a few days I just drove without the bumper cover off . Are you getting a new clear cover ? how much ? not sure what picture your looking for , I have plenty

just the lights, on the car itself... looks like you modded the interior a bit inside your lights. Or i am just seeing things...

As in the clear cover, i think ill just swap my stock HIR's which are perfect, with the scratched HID one.. Only one is messed up.. dont know yet.. But, you think this 3M plastic polish might take out the scratches. I guess ill have to go to Walmart to see if i can find some.. Have a link to what you suggested? thanks....

Quote: I just got off the ohone with the F-ing stealership.. It would cost 780 per headlight, plus 700 for each wiring harness, that is not including installation, THATS BULL$***!!! 2800 just for the whole shabang!! Thats ROBBERY!!

Its cheaper just to get a conversion kit...no matter the bs i have to go through with it... man i am so pissed...
Wow, invoice for the Driver Preferred Package is only a few hundred more than that and you get oh so much more than just the HID headlights. Seems like a better deal all the time. Makes you wonder why anyone would buy a new Maxima WITHOUT the DPP. But hey, at least Nissan will knock a whole $150 off the price if you opt to delete the HIDs from the package.
