Factory Fog Light Blown??

I noticed yesterday the factory fog light on my drivers side blew. Is this a common thing?? I have HID's what should I replace the Bulbs in the fogs to? I want brighter and whiter light. HAs anyone done HID's in the fog lights?? If not that what bulbs do you guys recommed?
