when you bring your car down dont forget your nitro patches.... grandpa.

Does anyone know if Capital has any AEDs?

edit: seriously.. the humidor is too sweet. I will give you props there. Definitely the first mod I've seen on a 6th gen that I liked.

Yes I am a grandpa and pround of it. I have 13 granchildren.

I am not the type of grandpa who sits in a rocking chair. I think you might need to be worked on with a AED when its over lol.

On the humidor, I travel alot and like to smoke a cigar and have a few jacks when I stop for the night. My friend chernmax who lives in Md. made it for me.

Peace and have a good weekend. Warren

I've been to two of the meets. The one at RCP and the one at Tony's. Due to work, I can't make it to Cap. However, I will be at the next one as long as it's on the weekend. Friday nights are rough for me because the meets are usually in NOVA or MD. By the time I get off work at five, driving 2 hours in traffic isn't very appealing.

STi's are INCREDIBLE cars.

Totally different from the Max though (Rally Racer vs Fast Cruiser)

I like both, but IMO the MAX has it beat in the looks department. Performance STi's will OWN the MAX.

Then I watched my I30 evolve into more than just a grocery getter to something more along the lines of a "what was that?" as I would blaze up and down 695. So when the 5th gen got a little updating with the 3.5 and the headlights changed and the interior began to cheapen... I sold out and bought the queen of cheap interiors...Subaru WRX.

In retrospect I really like my I30t better than my rex. I probably would've gotten an I35 if I was going to update to a newer model-try something dumb like a 6spd swap...

So as I'm driving around and had a 6th gen as a rental for a few days... I just have to say... I'm SOOOOOOO F-N glad I bought a 2005 WRX and NOT a 2005 Maxima. I just can't get into the newer max's. I would rather opt for an altima when it comes to the looks of the car and definitely the interior.
the center dash and consol looks like some kind of robot from the PBS show Dr Who. The rear end looks nice with the dual deck of twin tips(I've always been an **** man myself). But the front end of the car is just hideous. It looks like the design team lost inspiration after the 5th gen maxima and turned it to the Inifiniti M series.

Please someone tell me that they are not going to keep the 6th gen body style as long as they did the 4th gen.

I apologize to all the DC region 6th gen owners.... You could've spent your money better and gotten a lexus. or better yet, 2 4th gens.[/QUOTE

Why people got to be hating?
Being a 4th gen, I admit at first I wasn't keen on the 6th gens when they first came out. Now they've grown on me and I'd like to test one of these out someday, maybe even own/lease one. I've seen quite a bit of 6th gens pop up around my area.

While I'm still not a fan of 6th gens, they've grown on on me. I like the entire front end, but the interior and rear end has yet to win me over. They not "ugly" though. Every new generation of maxima has faced the same damn reaction, when 4th gens came out, when 5th gens came out - same ******* thing reaction over again.

g-pa. You and your friend should market those. especially for the higher end cars. the only thing like that I've ever seen is for the maybach.

you have an early retirement concept there.

My friend I am already retired thats why I do alot of traveling. I retired from NY Telphone Company as a Manager 3 years ago. 32 1/2 years is enough to give to any company. My buddy just made it for me and doesn't want to do anymore.

Going to Philly tomorrow for a meet and a cheese steak sandwich.

Peace Warren

very nice coming from a commision.....

Nice pics.

I like your picture of custom plates that must be earned. I've often thought about getting the P/H plate for my car. But it is something I'm most ashamed of not proud of.

Welcome back Chern glad to see you are back safely. I have to agree love it or hate it these are not your ordinary grocery store cars. Thanks for your service to the people down south. I was just about to order my wheels but I felt compelled to give to the efforts to the people of the gulf. Keep up the good work we need people like you out there. Keep pimping your ride looking real good. Peace and everyone remember with all the fun that we have on this site there is a greater good we can all do.

Thanks dude, check out this pic, got overwhelmed unloading tractor trailors and got help from some unlikely locals (all where cool) Mississippi Prisoners. Without these dudes, I would not have been able to offload as many 18 wheelers as needed to support the 11 shelters we were feeding in Mississippi and Lousiana, plus countless other BS loads and unloads throughout the community that we had to do... PS, I think WRX's are hot, there just not me, respect only earns respect... Stay cool...

Why people got to be hating?
Let's not get our panties in a twist here. Nobody is "hating," he was simply expressing an opinion. Not everyone likes 6th gens. When my buddy bought his new 2000 Maxima in 1999 I was like "Wow, that is an ugly car." Now look at what I drive.....Hell, I don't like WRX's at all...I think they're ugly as hell. Am I "hating?"

If you're going to hang around a public forum you better get used to the fact that not everyone likes what you like, and not get all offended.

---------------------------

Also, a couple notes about the "DC crowd" for those of you who aren't from this area:

1. It's not really a "D.C." forum, it's more of a mid-atlantic forum (everything south of Philly all the way to North Carolina. Most people in that forum are from Baltimore, DC, or Northern Virginia - since they are the most densely populated areas in the mid-atlantic region. Really, not many of the people in there actually live in the District....

2. If you guys hung out in there more, you'd realize that most of what is said is tongue-in cheek. Most of us know each other to some extent, and the flaming is fast and furious in that forum...."take no prisoners." Nobody takes any of it seriously, and we all have a great time at track meets, the annual BBQ, autocross, etc....

3. It's a difficult dynamic to figure out in those forums...specifically because it's such a diverse group. We have a bunch of guys who live in some of the most dangerous towns in the country (PG County, DC) interacting with alot of us who live in Fairfax County, Va (one of the most expensive counties in the country), and guys from Richmond and Southern Maryland (the country ) etc etc etc.

Our meets, you've never seen such of mix of preppy white boys with polo shirts, redneck stoners, brothers with cornrows, a few asian guys, military guys, white-collar 30somethings, etc etc you get the picture.

Point being, it's a VERY friendly crowd once you realize not to take anyone seriously. Second point is that of all the local forums, the DC one is the "tightest" I'd say....almost everyone on there knows each other in one way or another.

We also constantly have tongue-in-cheek "maxima generation" arguments in there...all in good fun. The 5th gen crowd (mostly from Northern Va.) vs. the 4th gen crowd (mostly from Md. and Richmond) vs. the 3rd gens...only a few 6th gens local, so they don't often get into the bashing....

The only thing that forum is VERY short on is females (which is no surprise)....

I now have no idea what my original point was...oh well.

goodnight.

I know that the proprietor of this thread doesn't point out in my DC thread... all of this was started because while my WRX was being worked on from an MVA, my rental was an 05 max. I wasn't left with smile on my face like when I drove my 4th gen i30t the first time. The consol and stereo/control screen... all of it just isn't what I expected in a car like the maxima. It seemed like the engineers just lost inspiration IMO. Especially when you look at what they did with the M35. I know that infiniti is the luxury division... but the maxima being the flagship of nissan should've had better materials for the interior.

Here, just an example of how the DC forum makes fun of everyone and every car....so until we make fun of a 6th gen to this level, you can stop worrying

(in case you're wondering, that's REDMAX, GBAUER, and SOONERFAN)

my wife HATES my WRX. She was pushing for the A4 or 330xi, she doesn't understand why I wanted to spend the same amount of money for a maxima and not get the bells and whistles of the maxima/camry/accord. But then she didn't say a word as I drove her back and forth in the snow last winter. Its hilarious. I cant wait to see her face when she sees my new gold rims for the rex. She's gonna want a divorce... not really but she wont ride in it for a few weeks... its my way of saving money on gas.

I hear you and it's an honest opinion and I respect you for it. My choice in the Max came because I found more pro's with the car than cons (potential for improvement), price wise it worked for me and their was no way I wanted to swim in the Altima pool (except SE-R), every car has room for improvement and based on the mods I have put on and into my car, I would have to say I agree with you totally. I would love to buy the perfect car, but then again, I would have nothing else better to do but cut my grass and that would suck. Peace dude

[QUOTE=irish44j]

I want to thank you for your imput.

The club I belong to nycmaximas has the same mixture of ppl and different year Maximas. I enjoy going to meets. Matter of fact next Sun. we have a caravan of about 46 cars going out to LI. for our end of summer meet. Today I am going to Philly for a meet. When I find out that you guys are having a meet and if I am free I will also attend. I love going to meets and seeing what everyone has done with their rides and meeting the members.
I been to Cory's house and met his family. They are great. Chenmax who lives in Md. is my best friend. We` both grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

To get to the main point make sure SLC I30t has my stuff ready.

Peace Bro. Warren

well you are going to need to pry your chili dog out of my cold dead hands because if you beat me on that track... I'll need that AED.

What kinds of times have you seen out of your maxima?

First of all definition of opinion is what you like or dislike. Hating is a expression of what he disliked alright. Two i don't give a damn about what he thinks. it was a post to the other 6gen owners to see what people are saying. If you think that this was not a "hating" thread then you better tell the rest of the cats who posted in this thread. they all felt the same way i did. third NO ONE IS CRYING AND NO ONE IS TRYING TO CAUSE SOME DRAMA. This was just a thread for our 6 gens to see what is up. So forget you and what you got to say.

I dislike the 6th gen because I think it is god aweful looking.
Thats just my opinion. For me, the bad looks outweigh the better performance. As it stands the 99 will be the last maxima I own.
Thankfully there is Infinity.

Sorry but you asked...
