I'm thinking about getting h3 4300k hids for the fogs to match my stock hids. I would like to request for pics of the setup.

 

I will be running 3 as of this weekend , however I don't think my pictures will help you out ...

But if you want to use them for real fog use try getting the latest 2700 like they have just fitted stock to the Lexus ... Supposed to cut fog like butter ..
You can get them on ebay...

 

I don't think anyone has pics of this.. I saw the set up done in daylight, but that doesn't help any..

 

im running two sets of Hid's and the fog install was just a plug and play, you need to remove the covers under the hood, and the windshield washer fluid res. on one side and the filter on the other, from there it should be a piece of cake

what brand HIDs did you use and do you have a picture of the mounted ballasts? did you have to splice any wires or anything else.. plug and play HIDs are not really HIDs are they? i always thought HIDs required a ballast to power them, then again i might be mistaken..

 

well yes they do have a ballast. your original plug is plugged into the ballast, the ballast then changes the voltage or watts whatever that is... and gives the power to the hid bulbs, that come with the exact fitment for your housing. they are real HID, just aftermarket made to fit perfectly for your car. if you want the true color of OEM HID's that are in most cars. you need to get 4300K which should be pure white. i wanted a more bluer tint so i got the 10,000K

 

alright, could you take a picture of where you mounted the ballasts?
also, i was wondering, did you get direction on how to install, if not, did you have to splice any wires to get power to the ballasts?

 

Hey i am new here, and this is one of the first mods i want to do.. VERY new to the Car as well... I am learning more and more everyday.. Where can i go to get those HID's? Is it a direct plug in for the lights/HID's... Again i am very new to this car, so go easy on me.. LOL.. thanks..

Anyone know if there is a HID kit out there with a 2700K selective color yellow bulbs? I want super bright yellow fog lamps.

Putting HIDs in for high beams is pointless. By the light the HIDs warm up you wont need your highs any more. Please explain the rational in HID high beams.

praytell where you got your "plug-n-play 'HIDs'" and what brand. If you just got an H3 bulb, that is not H.I.D. just b/c they label it so, does not make it. how did you plug ballasts in the light housing???

Xenon bulbs maybe, but HID conversion... if you found a setup that simple, please share.

As for high beams ,you are correct on the first use there is like a 4 second warm up after that it seems instant.. I do live in the land of no so many cars so I have had instances where I have left them on for hours on end of driving and not passed any cars .. Also I have found that, I can if I wished drive around with them and only get flashed by one in 20 cars...

 

H3 or Micro H3?? I'm going to order my 4300k HID soon. Please give me some opinions. I don't know which one to order.

Is there a significant difference betweem the Micro and non-Micro? I know that one is smaller than the other (duh~).

It's nice, if a bit... excessive. My guess is that if you actually flashed somebody with those even their future kids would go blind.

I believe my HID's are BiXenon. Cause the Highbeams I swear are HID. They flash on fast like HID's and bright as hell as the HID's.

 

yes they are... one bulb for low and high... is a little system called the "shutter", this will use a small tinted glass to block out the light making it a low beam, once you activate the high's, that shutter will move out the way releasing the full brightness of the bulb..

so the bulb is bright all the time, the only thing is the shutter blocks some light to give you your low beam..
