Non-Nav to Nav

I don't know if this will help, but check this out on E-Bay.

Yea I seen that already on ebay. But I've heard that it requires much more than that. I heard that you have to change the entire engine wiring harness to accomodate the stock nav system, but I am trying to see if anyone has done it or knows anyone who changed their non nav maxima to a stock nav maxima. Thanks

Dude, I will almost bet you can get a great aftermarket DVD Nav with a flip up screen that can be installed where the useless cassette deck is located and probably have enough money left over to add a back up camera which can also be viewed from the DVD screen. I do have a stock DVD Nav system in my Max and love it, no way would I try and recreate what I can install new with better technology...

Local dealer looking to flash'ing '04 Max for me

I'm waiting for a replacement NAV system for my '04 Max (doesn't boot when weather is below 35 degrees -- which is a pain on cold mornings).

I spoke with the dealer regarding the status of the new NAV/DVD drive on order (Nissan hasn't had a replacement in stock for 6 months -- which doesn't make sense -- and I finally have time to get focused and work the issue) and asked about flashing an '04 with '06 firmware.

The service advisor believes they can upgrade the flash with the '06 code, but did say it would not work with my current DVD (no problem - I'll order the DVD for the '06) --- said he'd research it and get back to me on Monday --- He'll get back to me --- we are close these days ---

I'll let ya'll know if a) finally get a new NAV/DVD drive and b) if we get the flash update on my '04 and needs to happen to make it work.
