About 15MB a piece, quicktime format... even if you're on 56K it's well worth the wait.

Sounds good, I like the Z sound a little better.

As for the video clip, thank god that the Paris Hilton Sex Video doesn't take as long to load up!!

Sounds good, a little too loud for me at this point. and my previous car was a Grand Prix w/3" pipes and dual flowmaster 40 series (sounded like a nascar)
I wonder what it sounds like with the resonator.

Yeah I think the outside clip sounds a bit loud, but from the inside it really doesn't sound all that bad... my guess is that with the resonator I can probably live with it.

Doesn't sound that much worse than my intake/y-pipe combo when I put my foot down. I think it's just a matter of whether or not I wanna live with it all the time (as opposed to now, where the car is real mellow until I kick the throttle down).

That's about what I heard. I think with the resonator, the sound would be toned down, and maybe a little smoother. Then again, revving while stand still is different than when moving.

It sounds much better when moving. The camera was positioned right behind teh tail pipes so the sound is exaggerated. Its a very intoxicating sound, really nice. Everyone loves it.

By the way, Im doing over 60 mph in the end. The car is too powerful to floor in first gear off the line, it just spins the tires. Thats why I eased the throttle on.

Sounded a bit raspy when behind the car but that may have been because of the camera. Inside the car sounded great though, very throaty!

There's a thread about them either on the classifieds or GD folder. I think the first 25 will go for $775 or something like that.

I agree it does sound sweet, but I think what everyone here wants to know is how do you get that exhaust sound the Z makes?? I've noticed that the Berk intake makes a sound very close to the Z, but not exactly the same.

I am not a big fan of loud exhausts. I gets on my nerves when I see civics a block away from me and I can hear their exhausts. I would much rather have a smooth, low-end sounding exhaust that says "performance" and not "look at the sound I can make come out of a small car with a 4" pipe".

When can we hear clips with the resonator? Is it out yet?

Is it safe to assume that when the headers are added to the equation, the sound is only gonna get louder?

I have the Berk, and it doesn't come close to the Z at idle. It howls like a banshee at 4-5k RPM, but if you're cruising it's really really mellow (which I like). The Z is like a bear clearing its throat all through the powerband.

I don't know if the headers would make a difference in sound... the y-pipe removes one cat and that's just flow unless I'm mistaken. I really didn't notice a sound difference from Berk only to Berk + CE y-pipe, and I drove it with the intake only for about a week. My guess is that the headers remove the other cats and you might get a slightly deeper sound, but the money is in that resonator and the stock mufflers.

Deus' car sounds like a modded Z, if that answered your question. That was my first impression. I'm not talking about Z's with cheesie chopped up mufflers, but with good catbacks. It sounded like a modded VQ35 car.

I am currently running just the berk intake and a straight pipe in replacement for the resonator + took out those nasty bends in the pipe, and it doesnt sound exactly the a Z/G but when driving normally, around 3-3500 rpms the sound resembles the Z/G very much, and by the way I aint crazy because my friends say it too.

On the second note, when I took out just the resonator and added the straight pipe, the sound change was very very small, the berk intake is what really made the difference, but working together it adds a cheap and nice touch the car.

Then I think it's a perception thing... my brother-in-law has a G35 coupe (which sounds pretty identical to the Z) and with just the intake my car sounded nothing like his, at idle or 3500rpm. The sound was very different from stock, but it's nowhere near as loud and deep as the G/Z/FX tone IMO.

When I added the y-pipe into the mix, I didn't really notice a change either... revving high at idle is REALLY noticeable, and when you have your foot down in 3rd/4th with the RPMs high you can really hear it, but it's still not as deep of a tone as the G/Z/FX have IMO. I like the sound now, though... and I think Michael Knight's car is sounding nicer and nicer too.

yea I know it isnt identical, DEFINATLY not the same at idle at all, but at 3500 rpm its only similar, but yea not the same.

On that note though, I am thinking of adding the CE-Y pipe, from your stand point, not just for sound for performance as well is it a worthy upgrade or does is it useless?

Thanks

I've always driven the car aggressively, and I can't say that my butt dyno registered a huge performance increase after the y-pipe... BUT I just came back from the first real road trip (almost 400 miles roundtrip to Cape May) this weekend, and a couple of times I was really surprised at the car. It will coast at 80-90 so quickly that you have to keep an eye on it, because before you know it you're doing 30+ over the speed limit and you feel you're doing 45mph...

The other time was coming out of one of the toll plazas on the GSP...

You probably know, but farther south the damn thing is only 2 lanes, so you better get moving right away or you're stuck behind somebody. This dude was trying to get around me on the right lane at the tolls, and when I put my foot down the car actually screamed and we were gone... I look down and we're doing triple digits... I can honestly say I've never seen the car move like that.

I'm in the city all day and in Queens a couple of times a week... let me know if you wanna come take a ride one of this days and you'll see for yourself.

yea I work at Nissan of queens on rockaway blvd, maybe tomorow I'll have the y pipe thrown on at the meinikee next door. Only thing thats got me thinking with your response is either way the max is quick stock, so I'm wondering if its the y pipe you feel or just the car being a quick one itself.

Well let me know... if you already got the pipe, you might as well wait and see. From the CE site and other people that have actually dyno'd the thing, you'll see some gains, so it could be worthwhile. If you're not sure, you can take a ride in my car and see what you think... if you're not convinced after that, you can always stay with the stock pipe and sell the one you have.

Remember that CE won't be the only option for long... with the Cattman one coming out (eventually), you can always stay stock for now and consider the options later.

Your call... I'll be in Queens probably tomorrow night and Saturday some time.

Just to note: I do have a y-pipe as well which probably makes the sound louder since a cat is eliminated. Also, I lined the trunk with sound proofing carpet pad and it makes it much quieter inside the car.

The third cat is eliminated correct? As far as the sound Im not into a lawn mower sound, but I do like hearing a nice throaty exhuast.

I also like to hear nice throaty notes, but not on my maxima. I prefer the G35's note. How can I get my max to sound like the G35 or the Z?? Sorry if this has been discussed before.

just for the note because i said i would i installed CE-y pipe today, sound is almost exactly the same to tell you the truth, (from having no resonator and berk intake), response from low to mid range is slightly better though, gains are def not huge...but you feel it.
