To get this Effect, Which paint should I use?

I want to give the nissan emblems, chrome roof rails and maybe the maxima badge, the black chrome look. Someone found a site for me that sells the nissan logo, but it's 50 bucks a pop.

So do you think either of these paints will give me the look I desire.

paint 1

paint 2

Thanks
Chris

p.s. sorry if this in the wrong section

Well, painting aside, you do know that those parts are going to have to come off for some prep, right?

I dont think either one of those would do much good. You would have to do a few coats and the clear it to insure it sticks. With the size of the emblems, I think it may turn into a real mess... Those paints are designed to stick to lexan. I guess you could try it... After all, the spray tint is basically what some use to tint their tails.

Yeah that I know, and I have a whole stock front grill to practice on. I'll probably debadge the rear except for the nissan emblem that I'd like to make black chrome and put on the stock lip spoiler.

Window tint does not stick to plastic.... Let alone small, individual letters. Are you talking about film or the spray?

You may want to check out Metalcast by Duplicolor http://www.duplicolor.com/products/metalcast.html. I have used it on my calipers and it is made to go over metal/chrome and have the shinyness show through but give it the color.

Dude, rethink the plan, I don't think the risk is worth the potential look which in my opinion may turn into an irreversible nightmare. If you move forward, good luck...

I know the roof rails are a bit much, But I'd try it out on the emblems first (since I'm removing them anyway) I just want a no chrome look without it being too bare....... I'm gonna try some stuff over the weekend and post pics.

Cool, recommend try it on the emblems first and then test it in the elements for a couple months to see how or if it holds up (peeling, cracking, fading, etc) If it works Great, however if you do not achieve the look you want, at least it's only the emblems vice your rides trim...

The no chrome look!!

Quite a difference in tastes: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=436700

Guess that's what makes the .org go around
Definitely post some pics, cause I have never had much luck iwith anything "chrome" coming out of a paint can.
