Test drove a 6th gen SE

well, I finally did it. Tested a 6th gen, here's my review:

Power: No complaints whatsoever from the 265hp VQ35. I thought the VQ30 in my '98 would push me back into the seat, this version of the VQ35 pushed me even farther. Did notice some torque steer though, but that didn't wipe the grin off my face.

Transmission: Absolutely love the manu-matic feature and the 5-speed auto itself as well.

Interior: Only cheap thing I saw was the plastic aluminium trim on the center console. Other than that, everything seemed to be of high quality. The tester had leather seats and those seemed of high quality.

Audio: The Bose system rocks! Simply put.

Ride: Although this was the SE, the ride seemed supple w/o being too harsh. Just as quiet on the freeways as my '98.

Total review: 9.5/10. If it wasn't for the center stack's aluminum having a cheap feel, I'd give the 6th gen a perfect 10.

I know what you mean by the "cheap aluminum feel" for the SE. I like the "wood" trim that the SL offers. Have you sat in an SL yet?

Are you thinking about getting a 6th gen? I'm comming from a 4th gen so I know how you felt when you went for the test drive...

Haven't sat in an SL. If the day comes that my '98 officially dies, I'd consider a 6th gen. I was very impressed w/ the 6th gen.

I went to the infiniti dealer to test drive the '03 G35 Sedan and I picked the 6th gen over the G.

when i bought mine I never even considered buying a maxima. I was looking to get an acura tsx, but after i test drove one it was not very satisfying it felt like a nicer civic. My girlfriend suggested the max so i went and test drove one and man it was crazy, everything about the max was nice. the power was the best of course, but the inside was insane too. I ended up getting an 04 SE with the elite package and a 6 spd manual and have loved it ever since.

after testing an MB320

after testing an MB c230 sc coupe and then the C320 coupe, I was driving by the nissan dealership and we drove the 6th gen. The sales rep was mad relaxed, threw me the car keys to a 2005 Liq Silver Auto, and off I went. My girlfirend said she like it cause it PURRRED like our kitty. So I bought it.
