06 Side view mirror ?

I know this may be a dumb question but does anyone know whether the outside dimming mirrors on the 06 would work on a 04-05. This is the only option on the 06 that I really like. I just don't want to buy a new car just for this. I wa at the dealership the other day and a guy had just bought an 06 I really do think it would come in handy at night I hate the fact that my rearview dims and not the sides. That is the spot that always catches the most glare at night. Don't be to harsh on me it's just some food for thought.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe all 05 came w/ dimmed rearview and side mirrors. I have an 05 SL and all the mirrors are dimmed. To answer your question, find an 05 that the mirrors are dimmed and put them on your car. They are really nice, even w/ tinted windows. It's hard driving other cars that don't have them, b/c you don't realize how well they block the light out.

hard to go back

My 2005 SL has auto dimming mirrors (rear view and side view). I really like this feature-minimal glare and I don't find myself squinting from others' lights. It would be hard to go back to a different vehicle without auto dimming mirrors.

I'm not sure, but is prob just plug and play... the dimming feature is not a whole system, the sensor is already built in the mirror.. I'm assuming is just the matter of supplying it power and the factory prob already has by splicing the power for the motor to the dimming..

I think is prob plug and play, the dealer might answer that question for ya if you are interested..

My 02 Acura TL had mirrors that were tinted blue and this cut down on any glare from lights. I wonder if there is a way to change out the mirror with one that is tinted or tint it with some window tint. Any ideas?

Have an 05 SE rear view dimming, but no side view dimming. I have 20% tint all around so its not a big problem.

I have an 05' with dimming rearview and dimming side mirrors. I think the option for dimming side mirrors started in 05. I don't remember my 04 having dimming side mirrors, just the dimming rearview.

On my 2005 SL, at night if I cover the autodimming sensor on the rearview mirror, then the rearview mirrors AND the sidemirrors lose their autodimming tint. This leads me to think that the sideview mirrors themselves do not have their own sensors but are connected through an autodimming "system" to the one sensor on the rearview mirror.

I have tinted windows (%20 wish I would have went with %15) and now it's not really a problem unless some **** is behind me with his brights on. Before I got my tint job done the mirrors dimmed darker because the light didnt' have to go through the tint first. If you get your windows tinted the sensor in the rearveiw mirror takes that into consideration and doesn't darken as much.

tint= not as much compensation.
no tint= more compensation.

The only dimming sensor is in the rearview mirror. If you hold a flashlight upto the sensor the mirrors will go almost black, all 3.

My 01 Jetta had blue side mirrors too. I never knew I would miss them till i dont have them. I also wonder if we could tint them to give them a blue tint. I have 15% window tint but would still like the side mirrors dimmed for the nice nights when i can put my windows down or if im driving through a township that I think might pull me over for my window tint.
