Does anyone recommend any specific brand of lowering springs? Also, I've looked around (ebay) and noticed that some of the springs available have very different numbers as far as the length of the drop.
ex.
Eibach-- 2" front, .8" rear
Progress-- 1.75" front, .75" rear (never heard of them, btw)
Intrax-- 2.2" front, 1.5" rear
CM-- 1.75" front, 1" rear (never heard of them either)
H&R-- 1.4" front, 1.3" rear.

Is there any reason for the disparity amongst those figures? Is it solely based on looks, or is performance a factor? Any feedback is appreciated.

Go Progress or Eibach IMO.

 

Progress. I helped in the development phase of the springs and they are great. Quiet and nice.

 

EiBach Pro vote here...

 

From my experience with 4th gen, Eibach is the stiffest.
With H&R the ride will be less harsh, but you will still feel
it if you're driving on city roads. If you like a serious drop,
go with Intrax. Don't know about its performance.
Keep in mind that the springs will probably drop a little more
as time goes on for them to settle.

 

so many different drops are available... which set actually makes the car sit evenly?? i.e. with the side skirts parallel with the ground???

 

I don't think any of them actually do. You'd probably need to get coilovers for that.

 

i just ordered some eibachs and they will be here in a week. i can't wait. i cant believe i waited over a month to lower my maxima.

go progress all the way, I love my ride after them. Sway bar is key also. Progress nothing else. So stiff, you will fall in love with your Maxi all over again.

Lowering Kit

 

Progress here. I have never heard of them until recently here. Priced $100 less that Eibach, thought I'd give it a try; so far so good, I got their rear sway bar as well. Big improvement over stock.

I have had good experience w/ Eibach and H&R, I think they make quality products. I have never heard favorable comments about Intrax. There are several others too, but so far most people here have Eibach, Progress just came out a few months back. I would say it depends on how low you'd want to go.

 

I installed the Eibach Pro kit on my car and have measured the height of the car
at the jacking points under the doors. The car is dead level, front to back. The Eibachs are supposed to the lower the car 2" in the front and 7/8" in the back. This would indicate that the factory springs are slightly higher in the front, which would explain the huge front wheel gap on the stock suspension.

Intrax on mine and i really don't have any complaints. But i do like a harsh ride.

 

Im on Eibachs but I want the front a little lower. Hey 04redopmax, didnt you lower your front more? Ive talked to some altima members who did it. I know a bunch of welders so I think I could have it done if its not to hard. Can you Pm me some info bout it?

I have Eibach and I installed them myself in my garage with jackstands (first time I had ever done it). Awesome improvement in handling when matched up with my Stillen rear and front upper struts. No noise, rock solid, one of the best investments I have made in the car since the engine is already SLAM'IN stock...

 

I have Eibachs and no problems.

 

I had Eibachs before.......noises!!!.......then to stock...... now today I will have Progress springs and rear sway bar installed!!!!

Same here but I did have help from a member here who had experience doing the struts. We actually swapped out my springs, struts, and shocks. The improvement in handling is wonderful. I have had no noises but remember, I'm not riding on the stock struts. One thing I did do was wrap the upper and lower coils of the front springs with wire wrap to help prevent any noises.

I kind of like the aggresive look it gives with the front sitting a little bit lower....

 

this is what I did....I installed the eibach's up front and left the rear stock....I have some pics under members gallery.....I will update with new pictures as soon as I get a new camera....I also just installed a new grill and added a Tv screen (moving the info screen down)

 

Hello there, I was just wondering why the ugly gap I have in my front wheel, the rear wheel looks good so I think I would not change anything there.
So RHMAX and KAMIL, can you let me know a part number of the PROGRESS coils you got??? and a stupid question I have to, What is the rear sway bar??
If I change the springs do I VOID the warranty????? My baby is a 2006 I got it on dec.

check out my max on cardomain, I have the progress suspension...the best. I had eibach before no good!! I live in miami as well. My max is dropped on forged 19's. 1.75 " front drop .75" rear drop. Sits good! check it out. DId you ever give tony a call for the tints??

I have the eibachs for over a year and have had no problems. Eibach says all four springs should be installed for handleing reasons but very one has a different taste.

If the dealer proves that any mod caused the problem it won't be covered under warranty. (struts break not covered if springs were the cause. just a example)

I have another question, do I need to replace the shocks in order to lower the front suspention?????? and using PROGRESS coils do I need to replace front and rear springs??? All I need is just get rid of the gap at the front wheel, just for the looks.

Did you order the coils online or it was locally??? (MIAMI) and if you can help me recomending me the shop where you install this I will apretiate it.

Thats good. I don't think that you have to change the shocks.
