Redlinemax.com- New aggressive Hood

Ok A will post up later some hood ideas that we have for a new hood for the 6th gen. These hoods will be available in either carbon fiber or fiberglass, whichever you prefer. Please post if you had a new hood would you want it in either carbon or fiberglass and also what enhancements you would like to see in the hood to make it more aggressive

I'd go for Fiberglass - wouldn't it be lighter?

Look forward to seeing some designs - I have been looking at some of the hoods for the G35 coupes and they have some pretty cool agressive designs out there.

I've always love Woo Cho's "reverse scoop" CF hood on his 5th gen. Either material, I would paint, so whichever is lighter and/or more durable is my preference.

I agree, the design is hot, however in the picture you can't see that his CF hood had some MAD cracks in it. And I believe he has since kicked back to a stock hood. Corey +1 for a design concept...

Fiberglass. I would like to see the cut out of the hood removed where it goes around the top of the grill. I would like to see it go straight across and then we could do some different/skinnier grills or we could make the front bumper/nose like the 350Z, with just a lower grill.

I am in favor of the lightest material, since Ill be painting to match. I posted an idea I had a while ago, where I saw a Bimmer with a nice aggressive hood, but not ricey. I think if u look at the luxury sport sedans like Bimmer or Mecedes, there will be some good ideas that are appropriate for our nice cars.

That looks a little conservative to me. Here is the pic of the bimmer that I thought may be useful:

yeah i remember well. i didn't want that to be a deciding factor. like i said i would paint it anyway. i figured that all/most CF end up yellowing/cracking. last one fiberglass by JiuJitsuThug FTW.

luke's design is nice, but doesn't create more of an Altima look with the wider lines?

of course my opinion doesn't matter since i just ordered a new oem one

Yeah I like the last pic I posted and Dues's. The redline one looks good to but pretty similar to existing hood. Nice though.

I like the ideas Good stuff finally coming out for our rides. Had mine ride almost 3 years and I have to freshen her up a bit to keep her in the stable

Thanks, what I am trying to do is completely organize a elegant but aggressive setup for the 6th gen that would work together but also can be mixed matched with other things. My opinion would be that adding anything else to that concept would completely rice it out.

Why not make both a fiber carbon one and a fiberglass one that way you can satisfy both audiences.

i looked at the original pic and remembered you widened the lines since the tooth was gone. So is that a functional "mini-scoop" at the top?

I still like the lower "reverse scoop" but that would defy "elegance" i suppose.

I say make both fiberglass and carbon fiber. You would get sales both ways. Id go for the carbon fibor if you guys can come up with more parts in it, including door pillars.

GTR-Rider - It looks good - but really looks too similar to the OEM hood with wider spaced lines. As TekNiq said it's too close to the OEM for me to shell out $$$.

I would want somehting that is elegant but is also going to get noticed as a different hood by common folks.

Personally if you photochopped a reverse scoop like the pic I posted from the Skyline in my last post - or the ones from the Bimmer M3's it would make Jsmith rides look so mean and I don't think it would be too ricey. Won't know until someone Pshops it though

Just throwing out ideas - and looking forward to seeing this project come to reality

I'm kinda liking the look of this one:

http://www.sportcompactonly.com/prod...0453&c=129&l=2

or something similar. (even less dramatic). It would keep the lines and I don't think it would look to ricer.
