Still trying to figure out the auto climate control.
It's 25F degrees out there and no frost on my windows.
I press the auto button and the A/C turns on. Why?
I can understand if I hit the defrost button and the A/C
turns on.

And if the outside air is dirty, I hit the button to recycle
internal air and not draw from outside. But the A/C comes
on.

In either of these cases does the compressor actually turns on?
I am trying to avoid using the compressor too often.
I guess I am use to my old 4th gen's basic setup where I control
everything.

 

I don't understand it either. Why would the A/C need to be on for floor heat?
