Off the line car " slips "

I am not to sure if this is due to the cold weather or the salt on the street, but when ever i floor my car or try to go fast off the line my car slips ( TCS ).
Any one else?

If you floor any 6th gen Maxima from a dead stop it's gonna "slip". It dosen't matter weather the pavement is bone dry or soaking wet....after all that's why we all have one, right?!

I have noticed just recently that my car will have a funny grinding sound when I accelerate. This has only happened in the past 2 weeks. I'm not accelerating quickly, it has been extremely cold in Chicago but the streets have not been icey. I do have the VDC option so could this be the reason. Hopefully it is not a transmission issue.

Is it happening at a certain RPM? I had a similar issue where I had a light "grinding" noise at 2500 RPM. I took it to the dealer and they said it was a problem they've seen a bit. It's an exhaust bracket that needs to be replaced. I'm not sure if this is the same as your problem, but it may help. I got mine fixed under warranty, no problem.

This is what happens when you have a lot of power in a car Flooring the car from a stop will ALWAYS make your tires spin (I'm assuming this is what you mean by "slip"). You need to not get on it as hard right off the line. Flooring your car off the line will slow your acceleration considerably. By the way, I don't have TCS (Thank God)

The TCS can make a grinding noise when it kicks in if your wheels start to "peel out". You should have a light on your dash that flashes when this happes to let you know the system is compensating for your heavy foot.

My point was it's a much more serious issue when dealing with a high powered FWD car (A34 for isntance Vs Z33)... I should've been more clear.

When its cold out and I really push the car from a stop sometimes I get a nasty slamming coming from the front end that shakes the car....I think it must be the tires getting grip and then losing it...I would refrain from flooring the car in the cold from a stop.

I slip the tires quite often off the line. I've tested the traction control with the street wet. With the TCS off the tires just sit and spin, you don't get much anywhere. I guess the throttle pull back is just a little bit and doesn't really help when the pedal is on the floor.

What I want to know is how fat a tire an I get away with to combat this (maximize traction) without killing the power steering?

Any suggestions?

P.S..this is miami so I don't have a snow problem if that's what some were referring to...
