6th gen VQs rock!

I hate to sound like some goofy kid (I'm really not) but some friends and myself and been doing alot of free volunteer work on homes nearly every weekend for the last 2 months and while down there this past weekend, I was blocked in by a friends silver '04? Max SE auto. SHE told me to take her car to go get some supplies and wow!! The 3.5 is one incredible engine! I was grinning from ear to ear as soon as she gave me the keys (though I didn't let on I was excited of course, she might have gotten suspicious hehe).

I turned the corner and from a 30mph roll floored it....and after my first encounter w/serious torque steer, the tires actually broke traction! I couldn't believe it, talk about fun....

So that's all, just want to say how jealous I am of you guys, and despite the sometimes questionable styling or interior materials, Nissan knows how to build and entertaining vehicle!

Lucky you didn't let on to your excitement... She would have changed her mind for sure! So should we assume that you've made a place in your heart for the MAX???!!!

And not only is it torquey, but I was pleasantly surprised to feel myself pulled back in the seats as well even further up the rev range (small town + small town cops + 400miles from home = no redline runs).....some nutty soccer mom came flying up to the light in a BMW 330 and started inching up...needless to say, the Max was lightly spinning it's tires through the intersection and she had to tuck in behind me...
Now if I could just borrow it this weekend....Driving from Memphis,TN to the gulf coast is quite maddening in a '94 Grand Voyager!!

Sounds like you got the 6th Gen Bug!! I was test driving a Z (auto), and i noticed a 6th Gen on the used lot, and BAM, took her for a spin and man it felt just like the Z (Z of course being better, but MAX has MORE ROOM).. I feel in love, and my wife did too. Coming from a HEMI RAM, it was a change, but this car has a punch like my HEMI did. And oh, yeah the GAS Milage was a serious improvement.. More $$$ to mod now. I love this car, and i am goingto run it into the ground before i by another.. By then they will most likely have a better MAX, or something that replaced it.. Nissan is now my platform for looking for new cars... I will always be a MOPAR fan, and love only Ford Mustangs. Thats why i have a wife.. She's getting the new Cobra that is soon to come out.. Take Care, and get yourself a 6th Gen Soon... LAter..

The max gets another victim. I let my girl take my car to the store the other day. She came back and looked like she saw a ghost. She has a heavy foot by the way. She says she went to merge and the car almost broke her wrist when she punched it. The torque steer scared the crap out of her. When she got back she said "that is one powerful car". When she rides wit me I rarely punch it and when I do I know how to control it. It goes without saying she loves the car but I will have to be with her when she drives.
