I just got my S4 grill and was wondering how hard/easy is it to remove the factory one and replace it.

Large plastic round fasteners --- pry up the center to release
the smaller round ones ---- push in the center to release

These fasteners can be reused

Yep he nailed it, you do need to take off the black plastic overlay piece as well to get to the grill, 6 clips total I believe...
Then there are 4 bottom clips that connect it to the bumper, they have a center pieces that you need to push down/or pull up not sure, to get them to release. I use some masking tape on the bottom edge along the bumper so you don't scratch it when you take it out/put the new one in...just a precaution.

Push it down halfway only. Push it all the way and it will fall out the bottom and good luck looking for it.

hey guys
i just bought a new trenz grill w/logo for my 6th gen.

i'm wondering if someone who also has one can give me tips on how to remove the logo from my stock grill. the sticky for 6th gen. says that it's kinda complicated and doesn't really get into that part. i wanted to know what i should be expecting

does the complete hamburger grill come off or just the "NISSAN" part?

i bought the grill to accomodate it. So on the "NISSAN" comes out and not the circle? What did you have to do to take it out? Was it hard?

That sucks man sorry to hear but that's why I said above in post #5:
"I use some masking tape on the bottom edge along the bumper so you don't scratch it when you take it out/put the new one in...just a precaution."

thanks in advance for your help man, that's mad nice of you

but i'm a lil confused when it comes to the color. that emblem looks a little darker than the grill that we have. do you think it will match?

quick info would really be appreciated as the auction expires tomorrow

also....i went and bought some touchup paint to conceal the scratches on the top of my bumper from the install. Does anyone have any pieces of advice as the fact that i've scratched my 1 month old car makes me a lil sick. i need all the help i can get. i sincerely thank everyone who's helped me to this point

Nissan Maxima grill emblems only come in chrome and will absolutely match when installed on a Trenz

hmmm
if i buy that logo, what do you recommend to fasten it onto the grill
the grill comes with double sided tape, but i might want something stronger that will last and not fall off in rain/snow etc.

what do you recommend?

Almost every emblem on cars today use double sided emblem tape that can be purchased at any automotive store, these emblems may look chrome but are really plastic so welding/bolting are not options. A good double sided emblem tape will do the trick. The emblems on my ride have been rock solid for the last 20 months. Good luck...

okay
so i got my hands on a nissan emblem for my new trenz logo grill
the problem is that it doesn't fit exactly cause the two metal prongs at the back of the emblem are blocking it from making an exact fit. i figure if i remove it, it will be fine

anyone who's been through this before wanna chime in with a solution?

Sitting flush is the most important thing. You can remove the two prongs which should actually be plastic, I cut mine off with wire cutters. Affix with 3M double stick emblem tape on a clean surface, should hold fine.

MX, If the scratches are small to medium a body shop can do a quick (10 minute) wet sand job and remove the scratch. I scratched my 01 door soon after it was new, the scratches were so deep and long I resolved to having the door painted. The guy at the body shop said a wet sanding would fix it & it did.....he didn't even charge me.

Good luck

Chern, thanks for the advice man, you've been a HUGE help with this matter, i'll see about letting you know how this whole thing turns out

Jopa
thanks alot for the tip. the unfortunate thing is i went to an autobody paint shop and they said that they would have to paint the bumper over and it would run me $300. I figure it's not worth it since the scratches are really small. you can't see them at night and if the car hasn't been washed you can't notice them at all. but thanks for your advice on that one, n e other pieces of info you've got, send em this way

giving everyone an update on my grill situation

as chernmax will tell you, i went through the somewhat arduous task of changing my stock grill on my 6th gen to a trenz grill with logo. I bought it from redline thinking the grill came with a logo but it didn't.

read the sticky on changing the grill and i don't feel they give you ample instructions for how to remove the logo (tried doing it, almost crack my logo in half)
so i then had to go about finding a logo which a lot of my local dealership didn't have. i checked ebay and the closest i bought didn't fit and so on and so on until i finally found the right one and inserted it and it looks great so i'm happy.

i would have liked to include a picture but i don't know how to do that on this site.

chern, props to you for all the help
btw-what did you use again to get your grill looking so crazy hottttttt
