Japanese Chip for 6 gen Max

I heard from a reliable source that there is a moded chip manufacturer in Japan and that the chips are available to change the programming so that you can boost HP (at the expense of lower gas mileage).

Anyone know anything about this?

Did someone actually crack our ODBII software?

Tek bought an ECU and tecnosquare sent it to Japan to be reprogramed, is this maybe what you are talking about?

RHMax should be testing it this week, it is back...only theig Deus is that Tek bought a 5AT ECU, I was going to test but I have the damn 4AT. So you being 6 speed would have to do the same thing Tek did, read here:

Well the ECU went to Japan about 5-6 weeks ago and is just now back. But I think once they've done the first one, the variants should be pretty easy. I'd get ahold of them or hit up Tek since he's been dealing with them...

Why don't you guys just buy the UTEC and harness patch for the 350Z?

The ECU is still in Japan, as of today; supposedly cracked. It's on the way back w/ the program and programmer. That's what they said last week too. I'll follow up w/ them later this week.

Hmmm... W/ all the arguments about which piggyback works and which doesn't, this is another option. Besides they can tell us about the stock ECU programming itself.

Since TS said they cracked the 5AT ECU, the others shouldn't be a problem. I'll report back when I know more.

May need a piggyback to adjust the timing.

not now.... I dunno what happend up there, but Brian no longer works there anymore .. so with the new person we are dealing with is telling us that we have to test it ourselves. just incase I don't want RH to test it out and have something go wrong with his car, so I will test it at my own risk and car.

I will post dyno #, as well as keep technosquare updated with the progress.

TS did the nissan Z and got 7hp stock and 10hp with an intake, so we'll see..

just out of curiosity, but if all goes well with this chip and is something that we can all get....is it going to be something where we have to send our current ECU in and have it redone?

now you don't have to wait like I did.. it should be all set to do in 2-3 days waiting time, you next day air to them and they send it back the same way..

if the ecu works then you would no tneed an afc. the only reason you may need a piggy back is if you have nitrous and need to retard timing

Cost of the chip=? vs 7 hp....
Depending on the cost wonder about value....
