Aftermarket exhaust question

I serached so please no flames...

There are not a lot of choices and they expensive, in talking with Brian from Cattman he said that the stock exhaust has quite a few of pinches/bends that restrict flow and his/others that are mandrel bent are better. I checked ebay and there are 2-3 kits for substantially less than the Greddy/Cattman, has anyone that purchased any catback felt the difference in SOTP? For $500 shipped ebay has a SS kit which seems like a reasonable price, it includes the Y pipe and the 2 mufflers/tips.

I have an Injen intake and a CE mid pipe, I know every little bit helps so would getting a cat back help my other 2 mods?

Thanks!
Greg

don't get the sections confused, the ebay ones are a greddy knock off, if thats the ones you are talking about, and they come with the "B" pipe, not "Y" pipe.

Y pipe come off the exaust manifold, bolts up to the B pipe and then your mufflers..

I'm personally getting the cattman cattback...save for a quality product, my 02..

what about warranty just in case and stuff, check that out first. in the long run you wanna have the pipes to be chrome still and not rusty.

ya they ebay exhaust is just a copy of the sp2, should produce a simlar sound if not identical. I dont think theres much to gain from exhaust, its more for sound and looks.

How loud is it? I have been down the mustang road and I really don't want listen to me loud or so loud that I can't hear the radio/carry on a conversation. Any change in mpg and when you say highway speed you did notice improvement?

I have not had a problem with hearing the intake yet so....

What exhaust are you going with and will you have to have the computer tuned for it or will that mod not make any difference in the tune?

Best pricing on the cattman and what made you chose theirs? IS that one a re-badged one or is it their own design?

I find u get what u pay for. I was there when the Cattman was being designed and its fabulous. I bolted it in, on the ground, no lift, no air tools, in like 30 min start to finish. Im much better than average, but still, Im not a mechanic, Im a lawyer, lol. Cattman is much better than the stock POS exhaust and Im sooooo pleased with it. ANd the sound . . .yeah baby!!!!

I am sure that the Cattman exhaust is first class but for almost half the price I can get the same thing. I didn't pay that much for my Borla system for my stang!

I would be a bit leary of the ebay deal. Ask the seller a ton of questions about warrenty duarbilty ask about the welds. as for close up photos of the welds. but you are right for the loot you can't beat that price. I too think 799 is a bit high. I am having one made for me for 475 that includes 2 magna flow mufflers. granted the pipes will not be stainless but the bends will be mandral bent not crimped. Good luck in what ever you decide. Remember it is your car and your money.

I just got my cattman installed today and it sounds really sweet!!

However...after a while at crusing speed it you feel how loud it is. Deus, I think I'll need some tips on sound deadaning my trunk...

I did notice the car feels real sluggish after the install. Is it true you have to unplug the battery after installing this type of mod? I really feel like I lost alot of pull...

Still, I'm happy with the cattman, just wish it didn't cost so much. Tek, I recommend the reasonator. I can't imagine how loud it would have been inside If I didn't get the reasonator.

If yout looking to install cheaper, you should fine a local shop that can bend and weld exhaust, buy the magnaflows from inet, and get your own reasonator. I figured I could have done the install for around $500, but this was after I ordered the cattman (too late )

I bought my SP2 which is awesome, great sound, and you feel the power increase. I paid 599.42 for my SP2 through a buddy of mine who has a performance shop, I bought it at cost plus shipping. It is sweeeeet!! perfect fit. Save the money, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"

well today I confirmed it 100% that off the line power is gone....I ran my boy in his 05 v6 accord coupe who I used to spank somethin fiece....a good 2 cars....ran him today because i wanted to test the exhuast and we were dead even..

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get back the rite amount of backpressure while maintaining my greddys...I'm thinking possibly a resonator but im not sure if im rite.

got the berk...and had the berk when i took him by 2 cars...and no he didnt juice lol I just know the car lost low end torque. seems to be best setup by far for this car in exhuast means is 100% stock...unless of course you only care about the sound.
