Just curious why everyone seems to favor the K-Sports over the D2 coilovers.

Sorry for the ignorance...but some people say get coilovers and some people say get springs. What's the difference? or more to my point...what's a coilover?

Refer to post 1.

Shock and spring are separate. Coilover is one unit, and are designed to work (better) with each other.

Typically, coilovers offer greater adjustment - ie variable ride height, interchangeable springs, camber, caster. Coilovers are a unit of dampener AND spring, whereas springs are just that, springs. Coilovers are about 5 times the cost of springs. Unfortunately, I have heard from reliable sources that the coilovers available for 6th gens are not quality products. So, choose ur weapons. I have Cattman/Progress springs and they are great.

I figured i would pay very close to what it would cost in the whole set-up, (springs, struts, and shocks).. so i decided to get coil's instead... And Deus if mine dont work up to par this will be me.... LOL... take care, and thatnks for the coments...

LOL.. You aint kidding.. I wish i was that lucky to have a place i could do this stuff myswelf. Unfortuantely i do not. I live in an apt., and for now i have to rely on those others that have the expertise. You guys in CA are lucky. You have all the best meets and have alot of shops to go 2. Here in TX we have the same in shops, but i do not know of any that are really reputaible. I WOULD LOVE, to do this stuff myself in my own garage, or atleast at a place i feel comfortable. As for the coils, this is my first attempt at installing them, and know little about them, other than how they work, but how to adjust them, thats another story. Prorbably have to take them off to do that...i believe thats right.. TX needs to get a good 6th gen group going and get local meets up and running... No offense to DNE, i havent been to one of their meets, and mainly are of the older generations. Oh, well.. someday.. I will keep you guys up to date about the install and pics will come right after.. take care, and again thanks for the feed back...

Ok, well continue suffering, my wife gets a little POed because when a mod comes in, I'm in my garage installing and forget about dinner and whatever her needs may be.

The east coast meets also rock pretty good, actually we have great meets from Florida all the way up too NY. The highest consentration of Max meets are between VA and NY so living in MD puts me at exactly the right place... Good luck with the mods bro...

hmm.............

I got my Cattman springs and sway bar and I love my car all over again. However sometimes I do feel I push it beyond its reasonable limit. Maybe coilovers are the way to go. Whats the diff between K and Tein? Anyone use the two brands or compare them? I'm seriously contemplating TEINS but having a hard time finding a good deal.

What do you guys think?....

TEAIN
K2
Cattman Spring + Stock Strut (leave as is).

I know what you mean by living in a apt. My homie chernmax has helped me alot with the installs of my mods. He even designed a few mods for me, one being my cigar humidor in the arm rest. He also came up with fix for the Injen CAI mounting problem.
My wife and I will be hangibg with him and the family next week. There is a big Maxima meet in his area that we are going to and March 18th my cub is having our first meet of the year in Queens, NY. Already we have over 140 different gens attending.

That would be cool but where I live I will roll to RedLineMax crib and then our caravan will roll in as one team, your more than welcome to join us so let me know what you think as the time draws near. RedLineMax is located in Bowie MD near the Hwy 301/Hwy 50 interchange. Just giving you a reference so you can MapQuest to help you decide if you want to roll in with us.

that is true, you only hear it loud on full throttle... with the ecu since the butterfly opens all the way, you hear the growl all the time, and it gets louder by the press of the pedal..
