Shifter Bling?

Question??
I have a momo shifter on my AutoStick, I want to chop the lever down to make it shorter, How did you guys that have done this do it? How much did you cut off?

Also has anyone experimented with a RedlineMax shift boots (of the 6speed) moded to fit the AT?? Would this work? Yeah I know its not stick....
thanks

OK, the quickest way I did it was with 2 people. Take off the stock shift **** and you will see a notch about an inch down. I secured the upper half with vice grib pliers and had my homie Ramberg hold it to cut down on vibration.

Next I used a electric Sawzaw (with fine metal cutting blade) and cut it straight off at the notch. Took less than 30 seconds. Again if cut at the notch you will lower the **** about 1".

The slow way is the same except with a small hack saw.

Example of completed job.

PS, the slow way was how I did it the first time on my ride since I was alone. The fast way I did on my Homie Ramberg's ride because their was 2 of us. Good Luck...

hacked my shifter...

yea, so i finally got to my garage and broke out the hacksaw, i cut approx 1.5 " off. i cut right above where the shift boot sits so i did lose my reverse shift lock but for me it is not a problem. it may be in my imagination but it feel alot better much more like driving a car and not so much like a truck anymore. i think i am going to cut about another inch off though because i am happy with the way it turned out. just thought i'd let you guys know. will post pics some time. and just because i know it is coming, here it is>

I went less tech than Chernmax, did it by myself with a hacksaw...same result.
